A bit of a photo dump seeing as I'm useless at updating the page

A selection of big and small jobs from the last couple of months or so, 4.4 turbos, 3.6 turbos, a few sets of ally manifolds on 3.0 TDV6 cars and a couple of M57 defender conversions as well as a rechassis on a 300tdi amongst other things

13 plate in for an engine, high pressure steam clean and some underseal

Second time in 5 months I've seen the same failure, plastic manifold has broken internally, blocked an intake runner and melted a piston.

Very unlucky as it has just had a timing belt, prop shaft and 4 x wheels and tyres amongst other things

Job from a couple of weeks back, just because the seller tells you it's a well looked after vehicle that hasn't seen a big garage bill in years doesn't mean it's a good one.

It generally means everything is knackered, we've limped it on, haven't serviced anything and now want rid because it's making funny noises. Like the clunkin rear differential, totally worn out prop shaft and grumbling wheel bearings

Lots of loose safety critical bolts, lacking grease where grease was needed and loctite where it really is needed! Like some of the bolts that weren't even nipped up but are responsible for holding the axle together 🤦‍♂️

What was meant to be a quick rear differential and brake overhaul job, quickly turned into two full axle rebuilds given the state of all the bearings, seals and stub axles

All good and well having a go at doing your own repairs, but if you're struggling message us or call for advice. Especially if you're local so you don't end up doing the job and then having to bring it in for the same repair again

Unfortunately this ended up needing a new stub axle (again) as well as bearings and a shaft. Bearing setup is critical and using the later "torque to spec" method on the older twin lock nut system doesn't work. These are done by feel

We also don't advise using household style silicone to seal axle components or brake pins into the calliper

However the captive nuts Land Rover use were stripped out, new stainless steel captive nut plates fabricated and old ones extracted

Ready for a map and then back to its owner

Nara bronze D4 HSE in for breaking or available whole

Engine locked up, defender wheels not included but will come on a set of 20" HST alloys with General Grabbers on £1300 complete

Otherwise I'm keeping the black grille, OS mirror, bumpers and arches for another bronze one I've got with non colour matched trim and the following is available;

Rear lights (no cracks) £225
Front lights with good lenses £200
Doors complete less cards £120 each, £375 for all 4
Bonnet £200
Tailgate top and bottom £350
NS mirror £60
Door cards £180 for the full set
Dark brown dash top £300
DPF £200
Seat covers front and rear, fronts are brand new in bag £40
All seats will clean up fairly well, just a bit muddy. Drivers has adjustable lumbar and side cushioning £200

Collection from LA8 or postage available, can post overseas too. PayPal goods and services, you cover fees
