This week we have enjoyed the company of a very nice Porsche 992.1 Targa 4 GTS in white.
A returning customer who kindly booked a (new to them) used car detail with ceramic coating.
With the weather being how it’s been, and our harvested rainwater tank being bone dry we went for a v early start to try to beat the heat and sun as we would have to use mains water for the 1st time this year!
Into the unit to hoover the hood, as we do with all soft tops if they are dry to remove any loose debris prior to washing. Masking tape applied round the teeth of the centre lock wheels.
Back out into the (cloudy) outdoors for our usual wash process.
Snow foam, rinse, shampoo, rinse, fallout remover (x2) and rinse.
Wheels washed the rotated and repeat the process.
Dried outdoors as still cloudy and no danger of the sun baking the car even after all the precautions taken!
Into the unit and onto the ramp to finish drying the nooks and crannies with compressed air then clayed by hand and a little isolated tar spot removal too.
Targeted defect removal to gloss black section of engine cover, and also to the rear bumper and numberplate recess.
Single stage polish and alcohol wipe down to the rest of the vehicle.
Futureproof+ Ceramic coating applied to the paintwork and buffed.
Alloy armour ceramic applied to the wheels.
Black trim protected with CarPro perl.
Tyres dressed.
Interior detail and leather/Alcantara cleaned with Geist Rapid leather.
Glass cleaned with Red See and that’s about it!

Yes yes we know, the same pictures!
New car month is coming so don’t forget to book your detailer too.�We might not be able to add the cost to any credit agreements or take £1 a week for life but we do have chip and pin!�We use a 5yr coating applied with proper preparation beforehand and will need your vehicle for 1.5 days to carry out this inside and out process.

Something a little different last week.
A recommendation from our friends over at Paint Barn/Paul Baker Custom Metalwork.

A VW Beetle with a set of well aged decals that the customer wanted removed and the car to be detailed ready for new ones, possible paintwork and who knows?
Excited to see whats next tbh.

So the decals were removed by steam power and despite giving everything plenty of time and gentle removal, still left plenty of glue behind to deal with.
Some of the vinyl was incredibly tough and some was very brittle. Glue residue removed painfully slowly with tar and glue remover, cloths and tint squeegees as scoops! No paintwork was harmed during this process 😅
Whilst the steamer was out we went to work on moss, door shuts, window rubbers and fuel filling areas of grime.
Outside for the normal wash process, but claying as we shampood the car.
Fallout remover applied several times and tar remover. Dried then back indoors for more and more claying as the upper surfaces needed a lot of cleaning time.
More tar work, and some blue paint along the drivers side that had flicked up was removed.
Wiped down alcohol and started to machine polish and correct the areas where the decals had been, etched like lines from where the edges had shrunk over time.
Thankfully no real ghosting could be seen so that was a relief.
Single stage polish to all surfaces and an alcohol wipe down and qd solution to finish.
Nothing serious or silicone based on that front as we dont want to impede progress with her continued pampering elsewhere.
Tyres dressed. Glass cleaned. Job done ☑️

New reg month is fast approaching so don’t leave your detailing requirements to the last minute, and don’t just accept you either take the dealerships offering or you don’t!
There are many professionals out there (including us!) who want the best for you and your new vehicles, who do this day in day out and not just a ticked box to increase profit margins.

Good afternoon. Running a little slow on the social media this week.
A BMW Z4 from last weekend in for a good clean up and ceramic coating.
A new customer to us, they’ve had the car from new and it was coated at the time elsewhere.
Now needing a refresh we were only too happy to help.
1st stage was to hoover the hood and there then followed a thorough wash and decon it was clear there was a fair amount of water mark etching to remove, which took chemical and mechanical means to the bodywork.
A single stage polish and alcohol wipe down, the car was ceramic coated and left to cure overnight (the 2 indoor pics)

Day 2 on the wheels, the interior, leather etc.
Only took a picture of the drivers side door card and we used Geist Leathercare products and assorted brushes etc.

Completed early afternoon and outdoor pictures before she sped off into the distance.

Finishing the week off, we had in a Cupra Terramar VZ2 in Dark Void purple.
Now it arrived covered in fly splats and signs of being a regular commuter vehicle.
The inside looked a lot more presentable! Loved the leather colour but forgot to grab a snap.
Belonging to a customers wife, and we have all become friends over the passing of time but i do think this is the 1st job i have done for her?!
The job was a sort of belated (7K belated!) new’ish car detail, ceramic coating and a vague idea that there may be the odd area of buffer trails….which there sure was once the wash was completed!
Not the light, easy hologramme type. More like Torvil and Dean with diamond bladed skates but the challenge had already been accepted!
So, the usual wash process with an extra bug soak stage.
Snow foam, hand wash, fallout remover and wheels.
Once it was clean, the bonnet buffer trails were clearly visible!
Indoors to dry then de-tar and clay ready for machine polishing.
The bonnet was put through a decent multi-stage machine polish as were the gloss black sections between the door pillars and rear window/boot insert and made a great improvement there.
Everywhere else, single stage whizz over with the DA to cleanse the paint and alcohol wipe down prior to ceramic application.
Applied the coating to the paint work and wheels.
Interior detail to carpets, mats, leather, door cards, plastic, screens etc.
Tyres dressed, glass cleaned then photo time.
The paintwork is such an interesting colour when its clean and presentable.
Very pleased how this turned out and thankyou Guy and Michelle for everything over the years. 🥰🥰

2 enjoyable days doing a new car detail/ceramic coating on this .
A new customer and a very kind referral from Miles. Thankyou for that.
We are very proud of our regular customer base but also its nice to have been meeting new friends this year. Thanks to everyone who spreads the word.
A really nice car to wash as the curves etc all flow nicely. Not quite so fun to polish those curves and recess’s! They are also bigger than they look.
Lots of de-nibbed flat spots to polish up.
Dont know if they have QC or a final inspection area but it might be an idea (or at least put tape as a ref point when you do de-nib!)
Wheels coated, interior detailed and carpets and mats treated against accidental spills.
