This week was all about reviving a carbon black X5 XDRIVE45E M SPORT AUTO.
A referral from a friend (thankyou Mr Evans much appreciated!). I think i mean thankyou…
A recent new to them purchase with quite a complicated back story involving overspray, overspray being rectified, then finding the other side also had issues overspray wise.
In short a good side, a bad side, quite a bit of machine polishing and a ceramic coating.
It only took a wash, dry and placing on the ramp to see in our minds what was referred to as the good side wasn’t, and the untouched side did have overspray but was also a typical correction we’d carry out after claying and decontamination procedures.
So many machines, rolls of tape, pads and polishes later the car is way better and ceramic coated.
Certainly not blemish free and not trying to claim as such but the right job at the right price after finding out what the customer wanted from us and budget.

This week saw the return of a customer who had given us our 1st hybrid vehicle to drive and work on so it was nice she came back with it’s replacement.
A Toyota Yaris Cross HEV came in for a nearly new detail with ceramic coating and interior protection package.
The usual wash, clay, polish and coat exterior process
Interior clean to plastics, carpets and mats.
Glass cleaned, wheels sealed and tyres dressed.
Carpets and mats sealed with Gtechniq Fabric.

A very pleasant and peaceful few days flew by working on this R8 V8 convertible.
A light polish to deal with some chafe-marks where a car cover has been used and make the upper surfaces look great without dipping deep into paint correction money.
Ceramic coated and an interior detail with leather cleaning have made the car look absolutely stunning and a bit of a shame to have to give her back!!
A few little bits of “help” like the spoiler screw was on upside down and back to front.
Also couldn’t leave the numberplate fixings as they were!
A real beautiful purple fleck to the paint and the gloss and protection of a 5yr ceramic coating.

So, Volvo XC90 T8 Recharge hybrid in for a ceramic coating detail.
The usual foam, wash, fallout remover process
Indoors to dry, de-tar (lots and lots) and clay barring.
Single stage polish and alcohol wipe down prior to ceramic coating.
Interior detail, leather cleaned, wheel trim fitted correctly, wheels ceramic coated.
Glass cleaned, tyres dressed etc etc
A new customer, but not sure if new to detailing or ceramic coatings but we hope they are pleased!

Nice to have a car sized car in! Today we are back with another monster sized creature 🤦
The customer had not used us before and was very pleased with the end result.
The grey metallics always look so good when ceramic coating.

Paintwork issues that are most likely from the factory and quite well hidden by the colour!
2 in 7 days. The only 2 we’ve done, but we’d like a 3rd if you own an Aston Martin DBX. They are “simply lovely”!
Thankyou to the customer for the repeat booking.
A used car, ceramic coating detail with paint correction to the worst sections.
Interior detail, leather cleaning etc.
Lots of beautiful carsons fibre touches!

First one of these we have got our hands on, and hoping got the colour right as Xenon Satin Grey!
Matte paint so after the huge amount of polishing we’ve just done on the Jaguar, it should have been a bit less hands on….should have!
The usual wash regime, snow foam, wheels, hand wash and fallout remover.
Once dry and indoors, the bumpy paint revealed just how well the colour was hiding both tar spots, bug splats and those hard bee droppings.
So tar remover, soaking make up pads for the bug solats and alcohol all got to work cleansing the paint.
No polishing allowed and claying could give us unwanted shiny areas.
This was where the dream of a shorter day, easier job went out the window.
The sheer volume of tar meant once it was removed, it was a huge task to cleanse the paint to ceramic coat the car.
The car was ceramic coated with our usual coating of choice and left to cure overnight.
Day 2 saw the wheels re-cleaned and coated and the tyres dressed followed by an interior detail, leather deep cleanse and ready to go home.
1st matte car in a while and a 1st in it being the DBX.

29 hours of hands on work.
A multi stage paint correction detail topped off with our 5yr 9H ceramic coating Futureproof+
The scenes of devastation halfway through show the amount of tools, polishes, pads and so forth that go into some jobs. The rotary died midway through day 2 but we carry a spare of all essential equipment these days so old red is going to be serviced, whilst new red is temporarily pressed into service!
Steve from was kind enough to come on bank holiday Monday to ppf the headlights for us.

Some jobs you do, you feel more like a concierge than a detailer!
This Volvo XC90 is such a case.
“Customer states” Tyre seems to have developed a slow puncture, whilst you have it can you look and if possible get it sorted? Yes of course, Dial a Tyre are opposite and plugged the tyre. Thanks guys.

Also whilst you have it can you PPF the rear bumper, of course we can with custom fitment. Thankyou

In between that we carried out a “new to them” detail with ceramic coating and a fair old bit of extra machine polishing as there was some v obvious water etching in places. A late late night followed by an early start.

The clip at the end was a new one to us! After polishing the bonnet, and going to grab a bite to eat…..in that short window of time an absolute shed load of albino baby spiders turned up and covered the front of the car! Put the airline to good use and sent them to a new location!
