What an amazing training session I had with Mille today.
Mum decided to join us so that Mille could show her just how good she was at driving.
And when we left her house at 12O'clock, it was lovely, clear blue sunny skies all around us.
However, as the session progressed and we made our way towards Petersfield, the skies became a little dark, followed by being very dark.
This led to rain, followed by lightning and a thunderstorm!
Now we're not just talking about a little rain, I think God decided he wanted to fill up the reservoirs around Hampshire in 5 minutes!
Flooded roads to the extent we had to watch out for potential aquaplanning situations.
As we reached Petersfield, we pulled in to the services so I could check Mille was ok, as she does not like thunderstorms.
I asked Mille how she normally deals with them when she's at home, to which "hid under a duvet" was her answer.
So, to be driving, it must have felt like hell on earth for her.
I asked if Mille was Ok to continue or whether she would like me to continue the remainder of the drive. But nope, SHE WAS IN CONTROL! More than happy to carry on.
So, sun, wind, rain, thunder, and lightning were obviously not enough! On the return journey, the clouds opened up again, and once the rain had belted down yet again, whoever was making the decisions up in the sky decided, "Hey, let pelt her with hailstones as well, and make them so hard that she can't see the car ahead of her." It came down so hard that we nearly had to stop completely.
But yet again, Mille took this all in her stride and just dealt with it.
Some drivers are just natural at driving, and Mille, without a doubt, is one of these drivers.
I could wait months for all these different weather conditions to arrive so that my pupils gain experience in different weather conditions, but to have had nearly every weather condition other than fog and snow in just a 2-hour session was absolute gold dust!
So this post is literally to give it up for Mille, for such an awesome drive today in some very extreme circumstances
