Last week, Transporter Engineering welcomed a group of Year 9 students from The Ramsey Academy, part of the Bridge Academy Trust, for an engaging workplace visit. The event was organised and supported by the Futures Ready Project through the Greater Essex Careers Hub.
As the students prepare to choose their GCSE options in January 2027, the taster day provided valuable insight into the wide range of opportunities available within a business environment. Discussions covered working hours, workplace conditions, career progression, and the real-life expectations associated with a variety of roles and industries.
During the visit, students toured the site and met several young employees who shared their personal journeys into the workplace, discussing both the routes they took and their future career ambitions. These conversations gave students a practical understanding of the different pathways available after education.
The day concluded with a career-focused activity in which students reflected on their own aspirations, explored potential career paths, and considered the steps they may need to take to achieve their goals.
Transporter Engineering is committed to supporting the next generation and hopes to continue expanding this initiative to other schools across the region, helping young people gain greater awareness of future career opportunities and make informed decisions about their education and employment journey.
