🔋 TIGHT DOESN’T ALWAYS MEAN TIGHT!

I see this all the time.

The battery terminal bolt is fully tightened… but the clamp is still loose. Why?

Because the battery post is tapered. If the clamp isn’t pushed far enough down the post before tightening, the bolt can reach the end of its adjustment while the terminal still isn’t properly gripping the battery.

⚠️ A poor battery connection can cause:

• Intermittent starting or a complete no-start
• Clicking when you turn the key
• Voltage drops and electrical faults
• Warning lights and strange fault codes
• Stop/start problems
• Charging issues
• Heat/arcing around the terminal
• Damage to the battery terminal or clamp
• A breakdown that could have been avoided

As the video shows, the bolt can feel completely tight while the actual connection isn’t.
