Nice to have a stock early car in to work on. Diagnosing running faults can be tricky. This had a new old stock carb recently fitted. The accelerator pump wasn't up to the job. Not what you expect to find. All sorted now with a spare carb fitted.

Another Karmann Ghia in this week with no battery charge & running like a pig!
An alternator conversion quickly sorted the charge & a mixture of a very heavy carburettor float causing flooding & a poor quality 009 dizzy was the cause of the running.
All sorted now within the day.

Carburettor had spat a tiny blanking plug out of the side! That's a new one on me. Solex carb fitted, valves set, timing done. Drives lovely again.
