The windscreen wiper was invented by a woman called Mary Anderson, who patented it in 1903.

She came up with the idea after watching a tram driver struggle to see through the sleet. 👏

Hello, Fife! 👋 If you're new here, let us introduce ourselves.

We're Revolution Auto Repairs, a small, family-run garage in Glenrothes.

🔧 Craig is the owner and lead mechanic. He's got over 20 years' experience working on everything from wee runarounds to family estates, and he still loves getting to the bottom of a tricky fault.

📞 Rebekah is the reason on the other end of the phone. She handles bookings, keeps you updated while your car's with us, and makes sure everything runs smoothly.

We're not a big chain and we don't have a call centre. When you call, you'll speak to us, and when your car comes in, it's Craig who works on it.

We look after drivers across Glenrothes, Leven, Kirkcaldy and the surrounding area, and we'd love to look after you too.

October is Tyre Safety Month, so here's the easiest check you'll ever do.

The 20p test:
1️⃣ Pop a 20p coin into the main grooves of your tyre
2️⃣ If you can see the outer band of the coin, your tread could be below the legal limit of 1.6mm
3️⃣ Check a few spots on each tyre, including the inside edge

Low tread means less grip on wet roads, and a fine of up to £2,500 per tyre.

Getting a car to the garage can be a real faff: finding a lift home, waiting around, or leaning on family to help.

Our free collection and return service for over-60s takes all of that off their plate. We collect the car from home, look after it, and bring it back to their door.

It's our way of making life a wee bit easier for the people in our community.

Here's an MOT tip a lot of drivers don't know. 💡

You can have your MOT done up to a month (minus a day) before it runs out, and you'll keep the same renewal date. So if yours expires on 20 November, you can book it any time from 21 October and your next one will still be due on 20 November next year.

Why book early?
✅ You get the time slot you want, not whatever's left
✅ If anything needs fixing, there's time to sort it before your MOT runs out
✅ No last-minute panic

That’s September nearly done — and you can feel autumn properly setting in now. 🍁 The darker mornings and colder starts are a nudge that winter isn’t far off.
