Thought we would make the best of the good weather this weekend and take our addition to our wedding fleet "Madge" out for a quick photo shoot and drive ! So a quick dust off before she goes to the experts to be checked over for when we are aloud to go back to work !!

Madge is a 1950 Triumph Renown in a rather fetching Burgundy with off white leather interior .A very unusual carriage and a lovely way to start your special day !

Not for you ? well we still have our white Beetle,lovely 1935 Standard 12 , Stag and we cant forget "Miss Morris" our 68 Moggy to make your BIG day that wee bit personal !

Competition Time!!!
Come to the Wee House of Glenshee this weekend and meet Bluebell the Standard 10 which became Car of the Year 2018 and your child could win a wildlife coaster.
For those who don't know the story of Bluebell, she was traded into a scrape scheme in Thurso. As a trade in, she was sent to the scrapyard and the the scrapyard owner took pity on her and advertised her plight in popular magazine Practical Classics and with the Standard Motor Club. After lots of help and work from the magazine and enthusiasts all over the UK she was saved!!
She travelled down to Dundee Motor Museum then on to the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu and sat next next to a Bluebird.
She's now here at the Wee House of Glenshee and the competition is:-
Any child going into the Wee House of Glenshee should go up to Nikki and say " Bluebell is a ......(make of car) will get a free wildlife coaster painted by artist Michelle Hewitt.

My 1950 grey fergie tractor cleared the carpark at Freshtracks and the Wee House of Glenshee . Started at 5 am and now off to my real work ! Great fun !!!

Stag at Rowantree Cottage. Guests had a great time in this stag! Even although the weather dictated the hood was not to come down!

Having now covered 1400 miles in our 1973 triumph stag I have to say we have had the hood down from Berwick to Carvoerio in Portugal! We have used the sat nav since driving off the ferry ,set to non motorway and this has taken us through some of the smallest roads and hardest climbs !! All very entertaining and throughly enjoyable !! Time for a wee rest before Spain and our return journey!

One Triumphant Standard in 2018 !!

In the beginning of the year this 1959 Standard 10 was traded in to a Ford dealership in Thurso for a new Ford van . The wee car was then taken by the Ford dealership to the local scrapie Speedy Skips . Luckily this was noticed by David Murray from the company ,who looked as it was going through to be crushed and thought "this is wrong !"
He contacted a Tom Sayles from the local classic car club , he contacted Practical classics and they contacted the Standard Motor Club and they contacted their Scottish guy...Me!
I then met James Walshe from Practical Classics at the scrapie in Thurso and the fight starts !! James contacted Ford explained that this car was a wee cracker and had won the ladies choice at a show two years before and would be far better being saved than crushed ! We are not listening was the reply !! We do not want to set a president they said (so they were willing to do it again ?) after a lot of work the Mag won and I mean a lot of work and the wee car was saved ! But sadly not before scraped was put on the logbook
So we fast forward and thanks to the wee Standard and the publicity Ford got to say nothing of the MANY people who signed the petition the big car manufacturers now will not crush a perfectly good classic !!!
At the end of this year 2018 Classic Car Weekly had a national competition and readers voted for the car they thought should be car of the year and this wee Standard now called Bluebell won ! A great finish to 2018 for all involved !
The story is not quite finished as we are going to ask the nice people at the DVLA if they could remove the scraped from the log book before she takes pride of place in a new museum just three miles from the garage that sold her new !!
The car is now owned by the Standard Motor Club and can be viewed at the motor museum in Dundee at the moment ,remember when you visit she is in exactly the same condition as she was in when she was taken to the scrapie!!

Last wedding of the year was a wee bit wet but the 1934 Standard 12 preformed well ! Time to put her to bed for the winter and get her ready for 2019 .

Our VW camper looked really good at Dunkeld House Hotel in Dunkeld! A 70s themed event for Burness Paull LLP seemed to be enjoyed by all despite the weather !

One beautiful resort in Germany , Oberstaufen in Bavaria was really good and so was the weather ! Plus a wee visit to Austria ! Wish I had a bigger fuel tank as really cheap here .

Our three guests had a fine time in the Morris on Saturday, Braemar and deeside being a great hit ."great birthday present ! ". Miss Morris performing well!!
