Hours will be mon - fri 8:30am to 5:30pm Saturday work will be required but negotiable at time of application

All car drivers who have passed their driving test since 1 January 1997 can tow a trailer up to 3,500kg in weight from today (Thursday 16 December) without the need for a test.

DVLA will update driving licence records to reflect the changes. You don’t need to contact DVLA for this - it will be done automatically

The car and trailer category will be added to your photocard driving licence when you apply for a new licence.

Car drivers who passed their test before January 1997 will already have this category on their licence.

DVSA stopped doing car and trailer tests in September, allowing us to increase HGV driving tests to help tackle the lorry driver shortage.

MOT exemption latest 📣

Around 650,000 cars, vans and motorcycles have received automatic 6-month exemptions on their MOTs since Monday. 🚗🏍🚚

✔️Sit back – your MOT expiry date will automatically update by the day your MOT is due to run out.

✔️Check your MOT history to see new MOT expiry date - keep checking back if your new expiry date is not showing yet.

⚠️Remember - you still need to keep your vehicle roadworthy.

❌ COVID 19 UPDATE ON MOT’s ❌

DVSA has made it hard to understand under the published guidelines I’ll make it simple,

If your mot is due on or after 30th March 2020

(including first mot on or after this date) you will automatically get a 6 month extension

If your mot is due before 30th March 2020

You will NOT get a 6 month extension this also includes vehicle where the first mot is due before the 30th March 2020.

What to do if your MOT runs out

If you or someone you live with has symptoms of coronavirus
If your MOT runs out while you’re staying at home because you or someone you live with has symptoms of coronavirus (self-isolation), you should book an MOT test after your period of self-isolation is over.

The Department for Transport (DfT) is working with insurers and the police to make sure you are not unfairly penalised for not being able to get an MOT.

We are still open for business but we will operate a strict no contact policy.

We may open alternative hours than advertised so please contact us before bringing your vehicle in.

We have limited slots available but will be a first come first serve basis.

Dvsa are reviewing the mot testing status for cars and light vehicles but so far theirs no change meaning if your mot has expired and you drive the vehicle you will receive a fine. (Only commercial vehicles have a 3 month extension)

1.6 diesel ⛽️
Dpf issue and poor performance ❗️
Engine management light on ❗️
Egr cooler blocked❗️
Cleaned egr cooler✅
Carried out dpf regeneration ✅
Car running better than ever ✅
Increased miles per gallon ✅

This issue happens when changing gear early and doing town driving. ❗️

A repair like this could be very expensive.❗️

We recommend regular motorway driving and accelerate more when changing gear which increases airflow into the engine bringing the carbon deposits back into the engine to be burned again. ✅
