🚨 BMW 335D N57 — BOOST PROBLEM DIAGNOSED & FIXED! 🚨

This BMW 335D N57 came into us with a boost issue, so we got straight to work diagnosing the problem.

After checking the turbos, boost solenoids and associated components, we narrowed the fault down to a coked-up intake manifold and cylinder head, restricting airflow and affecting the engine’s performance. 🔧

We carried out a full de-coke of the intake system and cylinder head, restoring airflow and helping the engine breathe as it should.

✅ Benefits of de-coking include:
• Improved airflow & engine breathing
• Restored engine performance
• Improved throttle response
• Better combustion efficiency
• Can help restore lost power
• Reduced intake restrictions

We also fitted a replacement intake manifold, then:

🔹 Cleared all fault codes

🔧 BMW 435D N57 ENGINE OVERHAUL 🔧

Another major job completed in the workshop on this BMW 435D with the N57 engine.

We carried out a full engine overhaul using genuine BMW components throughout, including:

✅ Genuine big-end bearings
✅ Genuine main bearings
✅ Genuine oil pump
✅ Genuine timing chains & guides
✅ Genuine gaskets

After fitting the main bearings, we measured the bearing clearances using the Plastigauge technique. This allowed us to confirm that the correct colour-coded BMW main bearings had been fitted and that the clearances were within specification.

As part of the job, we also replaced the inlet manifold and coolant fl**ge as preventative maintenance, helping to address common areas before they become future problems.

We also carried out a steering rack repair, getting the vehicle back to the customer fully repaired and ready for the road.

We recently had this MK7 VW Golf in from our friends James Glen Car Sales

The standard MIB system was suffering with dead pixels, unresponsive touchscreen and Bluetooth issues. We upgraded the car with a Genuine MIB 2 system that was fully programmed to the car and had the relevant hardware units replaced. This gave a slicker look, bigger screen and the ability to use Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.

While the car was in, it was noticed that the boot was filling with water, we traced this to a perished drain pipe. We replaced this with an upgraded part directly from Volkswagen.

There was also a complaint of excessive wind noise over 50mph, this was traced to a Passenger front door seal, a new one ordered from Volkswagen and fitted so you now get that well known solid Golf sound when you close the door.

We recently had this stunning Mercedes A35 AMG in for some new brakes.

Although the car was not that old, the brakes on the front had become warped, causing juddering under braking and also loud squealing at times. Mercedes wanted nothing to do with the issues under warranty. This long standing customer therefore trusted us to supply and fit genuine Mercedes Brake Discs, Pads and Wear Sensor.
