Job a completed on this incredible example of a 2018 Porsche Boxster GTS. This car definitely did not arrive at our workshop looking like this😅

Job started as a call out to customers address as the car was in a total non start situation. After we got entry and power to the vehicle we quickly confirmed the exact problem with this car. WATER INGRESS.
Mainly water in the passenger side right up to the seat base. We know our Porsches so we filled In the customer and took the car with us to the workshop.

Once the vehicle was on the premises we took on the job of stripping the whole interior down. Both seats, mats, carpets & panels all removed. Found that the Body control module & parking distance module had taken on water (they swimming for several months🤦‍♂️). Then we got old George the wet vac out and had at it sucking the majority of water from both the interior and foam under the carpets.
After this the whole interior was placed in the “Drying cupboard” for several days. And an Industrial grade dehumidifier was placed inside the Vehicle & locked up for the week.

Ofcourse we knew exactly where the water leak was coming from and tackled this also by removing both sides the the car to access and fix the issue in hand 🤌🏻

Once everything was fully dry and the car was no longer filling the dehumidifier we knew it was time for a leak test. Covered both floor pans with blue towel and carried out both low and high pressure water testing to confirm full fix and we weren’t going to get a phone call in 2 weeks time to say it’s full of water again 🤣

Time for the rebuild & that’s exactly what we did.
We reloomed all the wiring harnesses, cleaned and replaced any damaged terminals on the BCM multiplugs then off we went to Glasgow Porsche to collect a Brand new BCM and PDC controller. returned and fitted. Both modules coded online and immobiliser realigned💻.

Then the car went over to our friends at for a safe exterior wash and a full steam clean of the interior to get rid of any smells or marks left behind. What a job the boys do and a pleasure to deal with as always 🤝🏽

We had this stunning example of a RS3 in for a no sound situation 🔊.

Attended customers address in Alloa, Customer originally requested a software update using the dealer tool, but knowing how many different problems these system have was pre warned that this may not be the fix.

Turned up, connected ODIS and carried out programming and coding of original unit.
No faults stored throughout whole car, system fully operational just no sound coming from any of the speakers.

After a bit of rolling about and fighting eventually found the exact issue. The B&O amplifier under the passenger seat had what I can only describe as a small amount of fluid ingress on the top cover ( I think it may have been coffee) ☕️.

After stripping unit out and opening for visual inspection we found an internal failure of a few components on board. Vehicle now requires replacement amplifier and SVM Coding to suit 😎

Explained and gave customer a full run down of what’s went down. Got paid and left customer with a few different options for repair🤝🏽.

Been a while since our last post but let me tell you we have not stopped.

Recently completed this head scratcher of a Jaguar F-Type S.

Attended this Vehcile at the customers address in Cumbernauld. Customer complaint of overheating, coolant fans inoperative and EML present. As this was customers “weekend” car battery was low and had battery charger connected. After a bit of diag work and a look at OE wiring diagrams, I found 2 blown fuses in under-bonnet fusebox covering coolant fans and management system. After thorough road testing I could no longer fault the car. Left with customer and fault returned after a few days of use.

Customer rebooked and dropped Vehicle at our workshop for further diagnosis as faults still stored for airmass meters in wheel arches.
Stripped bumper off and found the issue in good time 😎

Repaired wiring loom to OE specification and rebuilt all trims and bumper.
Carried out extended road testing 💨
Confirmed full fix and returned the car to a very excited customer.

We are fully loaded when it comes to the JLR product.
Fully licensed dealer tool and training along side the knowledge of all JLR vehicles gives us an advantage above most.
A lot of garages and technicians will dodge these types of jobs or send you to the dealership at 3 hours minimum labour for a quick “plug in” with the open chequebook method where the bill never stops.

We got called out to have a look at this 2018 Q5 with a child lock fault and no central locking or window working on the passenger rear. Initial diagnostics showing no communication with the N/S door module 😧

OE manufactures diagrams located and pin tested the wiring.
Found a earth on lin bus coms wire from passenger front door👎🏽

Further investigation I located the broken wire in the passenger front wiring loom 😎Repaired and re-loomed, quick regeneration at customers request and the vehicle is back to full working order.

Range Rover sport we had in recently for diagnosis into a whole stack of unrelated faults.

Vehicle had no passenger headlight, washer fluid warning, adaptive cruise control and water in fuel indicator😅
Once I located the correct diagrams I managed to link all these faults together onto the one earth point on the car.

Once located I found that the earth I was referring too was heavily corroded😳
As these cars are aluminium bodied the earth studs on the body are a common place for corrosion due to the mix in metals with the connector and nut.
Repaired, Rebuilt and back on the road😄
