Glasgow in winter doesn't mess about. Frost in the morning, rain that never stops, and visibility that drops without warning. If you're newly passed or still learning, a few habits make a big difference:

🚗 Check your lights, tyres, wipers and fluids before you set off
⏰ Give yourself extra time. Rushing is when mistakes happen
🛣️ Slow down and leave a bigger gap to the car in front
🪟 Clear all your windows properly, ice and condensation, not just a peephole
🌧️ Watch for ice, frost, heavy rain and poor visibility, especially on routes around Glasgow

What actually is a mock driving test, and is it worth doing one?

It's a full practice run set up to feel like the real thing. Same format, same rules, and the kind of routes you'll see on test day, with an instructor marking you the way an examiner would.

Why people do them:
✅ You know what the real test feels like before you're in it
✅ Honest feedback on what still needs work
✅ Fewer nerves on the day
✅ You see what examiners are actually looking for

It won't guarantee a pass, but it takes a lot of the unknown out of test day, and the unknown is usually where the nerves come from.

Booking your driving test works differently in 2026, and a few of the changes are catching people out.

Quick version:
👤 Only you can book and manage your own test
🔄 You get a maximum of 2 changes to your booking
📍 If you move it, it has to be one of your 3 nearest test centres
🚫 Unofficial test finder apps and sites that scan for cancellations aren't allowed
