Humanist challenge day 7

The less glam side...

Actually trying to get around the Scottish road network between April and September - when local authority roads departments perform their own mysterious ceremonial duties involving closing routes at random intervals and assembling lines of ornamental cones.

The whole country , all 32 local councils, participate in these time honoured traditions. Making traversing the nation a sloooow process. They are doing the Eastbound M8 this weekend - exciting stuff. Many travellers will become adrift somewhere near Polkemmett...

Come October time, the cones are safely put away for the bad weather. The potholes remain, of course, for they are a protected geographical fixture.

Day 4 of meet the Celebrant

I forget to post stuff on here , get me on ma insta ...anyway

Todays question is 'What's in your bag?

Hunners of stuff. Depends.
You sharing a toast from a quaich - I'll bring a spare.
Candles ? Matches ✅️

Getting married outside - some kind of paperweight to prevent loss of licence, in hedge because of a breeze.

Handfasting? Emergency ribbons. Who knew such a thing existed.

Other detritus including hankies, scissors, pens, more pens, ink, perfume.

Fact of the daaaayyy:

This is the bag I use for Celebrant adventures, mainly. Great quality and an excellent cause.



MADLUG Make these bags and for every one you buy, they give one for free to a looked after child.

Children in care can sometimes have their belongings moved in black bin bags or plastic shopping bags. That's unacceptable. Totally removing the dignity they deserve.

Madlug make sure they have their own stuff , safely in their own good quality luggage.

So, buy their bags- they are class.

Day 1 - Who am I?


Eh, who are YOU and what are you all doing in ma hoose???

I'm Katie. I'm a Celebrant, have been at this a wee while now. A brilliant, emotional, magic thing to get to do.

Love 'ma couples' , love love stories.

Probably have a sentimental ' how will I manage this bit' moment once a week because I write emotional ceremonies and then remember I'm the delivery system too...shall I change this? Nope.

I'm nosy so, I want the deets, the tea , the troof and nothing but the troof about your story 😅 the good , the bad, the annoyances of badly stacked dishwashers and the over indulged cats , the lot. Maybe that's just my house actually...

Eh, fun fact I can make really good cauliflower soup.
