BREAKING: HAGGIS FORM PROTECTIVE SHIELD AROUND LOSSIEMOUTH WALRUS — LOCALS TOLD TO KEEP THEIR DISTANCE
Unusual scenes at Lossiemouth Harbour this morning after a group of wild haggis reportedly formed a tight defensive ring around the now-famous walrus, Magnus.
Eyewitnesses say the creatures appeared just after sunrise, emerging from nearby dunes before calmly taking up positions in a near-perfect circle — surrounding the walrus both in the water and along the marina.
“It was like they knew exactly what they were doing,” said one local. “No noise, no panic… just straight into formation. Nobody’s getting near him now.”
Within minutes, the area was effectively locked down, with haggis stationed along the pontoons, lining the edges of the harbour, and floating in the water to complete what onlookers are calling “a full 360-degree security operation.”
Attempts to approach Magnus have been quickly shut down, with several people claiming the animals have been far more aggressive than expected when anyone gets too close.
“I went for a photo and got chased straight back,” one visitor said. “They’re small, but there’s a lot of them… and they’re not messing about.”
Experts have no clear explanation for the behaviour, although one theory suggests the haggis may have adopted the walrus after recognising his “shared lifestyle of lying about and doing absolutely nothing.”
Local authorities have advised people to keep their distance while the situation is monitored, though sources admit there’s little they can do without provoking what’s now being described as a “fully coordinated haggis unit.”
Meanwhile, Magnus remains completely unfazed at the centre of it all, occasionally shifting position while his unlikely security detail holds firm.
A handwritten sign has appeared near the harbour reading:
“Protected. Do not approach.”
As things stand, Magnus remains in position, the haggis remain in formation, and nobody has managed to get within ten feet without being firmly turned back.
