Is £180 too expensive to get you off a hard shoulder of a motorway? 🤷♂️
Sunday morning - 1955015 on the M8 motorway.
The tyre is £55 - The out-of-hours call out is £100.
A motorway job is more expensive but went with £125 for the call out = £180 total Inc VAT.
“Nah that’s too dear, I can drive it off the motorway and take it somewhere”
Out of curiosity I asked what they’d expect to pay to have someone come out and replace their tyre and get them off the hard shoulder of the motorway.
£100…. £100 including the tyre….the tyre is £55 so £45 to have someone attend on the motorway.
To put it into perspective.
Diesel is a kick in the Davina McCall’s off £2 per litre.
Then you’ve got the fitters time, consumables, insurance, tyre disposal, tools, wear and tear, I’ve paid for our fitters to be REACT certified meaning we can work on motorways, The list goes on.
I completely understand and appreciate folk may think this is too expensive or can’t afford it which is fine but after reading/understadning the breakdown
Is it still too expensive at £180.00?
