The BMW 2 Series Active Tourer is one of those cars that doesn't shout about itself, but quietly gets on with being very good at just about everything. Practical, refined, and genuinely nice to drive, it's the kind of family car that BMW does so well when it puts its mind to it.

This one is the 218d in Luxury trim, which sits above the standard spec and brings a noticeably more premium feel inside. The 2.0-litre diesel engine is a great fit for this car, pulling well from low revs and returning strong fuel economy on longer runs. Euro 6 compliant too, so no issues with clean air zones.

At 80,330 miles it's done a decent amount of road but these diesels are built for exactly that. Properly looked after, they go on and on.
