Coolant Leak 💧…

BMW 335d in with us for its annual service ✅

Whilst here, the customer asked us to replace the plastic coolant fl**ge as it was leaking ❌

Inlet off, we found the seal on the fl**ge was perished 👎🏻

Whilst off, we advised the inlet and egr were choked with carbon ❌ a job for another day though…

New coolant fl**ge and seal and this one was back to normal again ✅

Our health check highlighted several issues to keep an eye on going forward. In the pursuit of a reliable vehicle.

Honda CRV 1.6 dtec in with DPF issues 👎🏻…

Soot accumulation was too high to carry out a static regen ❌

We had to manually clean the dpf ✅

Which brought the soot accumulation down enough to carry out a static regen successfully ✅

Despite the dpf being manually cleaned, some cars still need to go through the dpf regen sequence to acknowledge its been cleaned amd turn off the lights. This was the case with this Honda.

All clean and back to normal though

The likely cause? Short journeys 👎🏻

Leaking turbo…

Peugeot 5008 1.5hdi in for a replacement turbo

Excessive back pressure from the dpf filling up, the likely cause of the exhaust leak from the wastegate

When removed, there was excessive play in the turbo also 👎🏻 caught well before more serious issues

New turbo supplied and fitted with genuine oil feed ✅

Not what you expect from a brand new clutch…

Kicking off the week we had this BMW 218d in with a noise from flywheel ❌

This time a fwd version, quite similar to the mini, its well designed to take apart

Old clutch removed, we could see the bearing in the flywheel had collapsed 👎🏻

New flywheel and clutch kit fitted ✅

With the box back in, prior to putting the car back together, i wanted to check the clutch operation…. Hard pedal ❌

Looking back at the install pix, we seen the self adjusting clutch mechanism was fully extended 🤦🏻‍♂️ on a brand new clutch 🙄

Gearbox back out, clutch off and onto the old flywheel, into the press we were able to reset the self adjusting mechanism to where it should have been on install ✅

Gearbox back in and the clutch was perfect 💪🏼

Nothings straight forward with cars but when new parts are not up to par it makes for unnecessary delays to the workshop schedule 👎🏻

This zafira squeezed in due to a coolant leak 👎🏻 quick inspection identified the radiator was faulty ❌

New one supplied and fitted and back to normal ✅
