💦💦 Took a little longer than anticipated, but we are officially up and running with our latest bit of kit💦💦
We now have our very own Vapour Blaster installed, another one of our many services we can offer! Vapour/Aqua blasting with fine glass media delivers an almost perfect factory finish. We are looking to focus on mainly smaller parts to begin with and are offering a great service for a great price. This is perfect for any car/motorcycle enthusiast looking to restore their vehicle to its formal glory. We are already taking bookings in to next year but please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any enquiries💦💦

We are on the lookout for a 200 L air compressor to have as a back up, preferably a vertical one for storage purposes but would consider a normal one also. Give us a shout if you have anything lying around or know of anyone with one for sale! Many thanks, Bryan.

Another busy week here at BL Autos
We had this lovely Landrover Discovery in with a slight rattle noise on start up. These 2.0 Ingenium engines are very prone for this. We quickly diagnosed it as a stretched/worn timing chain. Specialist timing tool purchased and away we went stripping the vehicle down. This is quite a heavily involved job, with subframe and gearbox also needing removed to gain access in to the timing chain. Genuine Landrover parts supplied along with fresh oil and filter, we can’t stress enough the importance of using the specified oil for your vehicles to try and prolong your engines life. We can now offer timing chain replacement on any of these Ingenium engines, all Landrover and Jaguar vehicles. 🚙🔧

Good evening guys! Just letting you all know that Monday 3rd June- Friday 7th June, the garage will be closed. I’m off on a much needed holiday to have some downtime with the family! Been a very busy year so far and I want to thank all customers for their support👍

Very happy customer this week🚗
Around two years ago said customer took his Vauxhall Insignia to another garage in Forfar with clutch issues and the pedal sinking to the floor. The garage suggested a flywheel whilst the gearbox was out albeit there was no rattle or issues on that side . Vehicle returned with another clutch issue now present so was returned to garage on a few occasions, to be told it’s now the Master Cylinder, then the full clutch pipe from Master to Slave. After spending a huge sum of money the issue was still there, pedal sometimes soft, sometimes hard and struggling to get in and out of gears. The customer has persevered with this for a long time. I brought it in to the workshop last week and got stuck in about it, always look where someone else has been first. Upon inspection nothing stood out straight away, no leaks etc. With the clutch pulled off and the original flywheel in hand you could spot the difference straight away! Huge difference in depth, causing the dodgy pedal and car struggling to engage gears. Completely over looked by the other garage when they have fitted! Original fitted and cars 100% again! 🚗 Amateur’s😂

Well it’s been a very busy week already at the garage!😴 First of all we had a lovely Vauxhall Astra GSI in for a small coolant leak, after a quick pressure test we traced the leak to the water pump. A quick call to the customer and we learned this full kit had been fitted less than 500 miles ago from a reputable supplier, and had failed prematurely. We dealt with the supplier ourselves saving the customer the hassle and the cost of the full timing belt kit! Full kit fitted including new water pump, tensioner and both idler pulleys along with a full coolant flush, back on the road! Another happy customer🚙
The next lovely car we had in was a Subaru Impreza for an engine change, as it had developed a bottom end knock and the customer opted for a second hand engine to keep costs down. This was the first one I’ve changed an engine on but we pride ourselves in tackling any job head on and this was a lot more straightforward than anticipated. However we did come into a few issues, nothing that we couldn’t take care of. The vehicle had a gearbox and flywheel fitted and another garage and the flywheel bolts were extremely over torqued! One of the bolts was non existent and the rest either slipped and snapped on removal! We managed to get them drilled out without damage to the flywheel to swap over onto the new engine our customer supplied. We can’t stress enough that this is the importance of torquing parts to spec, however some garages are a little to handy with impact guns and getting cars rushed in an out of their workshop. Engine replaced and full service carried out. We have the vehicle back in a couple of weeks just to check everything over and make sure everything is 100% as there can be teething issues with second hand engines. Another car back on the road 🚙

Vauxhall Corsa timing chain to get rid of that dreaded rattle.
Vauxhall Zafira exhaust flexi repair section saving the customer almost £200 on a new exhaust
Vauxhall Astra VXR in for a new turbo and new valve stem seals, we have the specialist equipment to carry out valve stem seal change in place without having to remove the cylinder head on Z20 engines, also saving customers ££

Unfortunately I some how managed to lock myself out of my business page, therefore I have had to start from scratch and make a completely new one. I was hoping that you could take two seconds out of your day while scrolling and give my page a little share to try and help me regain my previous following and hopefully even some new custom!
