Well folks, we are absolutely delighted to announce that our recent Grumpy Gits Cars NI Charity Cars & Coffee Event raised a fantastic £424.05 in aid of PIPS Su***de Prevention Ireland.

*** IMPORTANT - WORTH A READ ***

⚠️ A REMAP IS NOT A REPAIR!

We've noticed a significant increase in the number of businesses now offering ECU remapping. That's fair enough - there's business out there for everyone, regardless of the industry.

However, something we've become increasingly concerned about is the condition of some of the vehicles we've seen recently.

A few examples include:

🔧 Vehicles with over 250,000 miles being remapped, it's madness in my opinion
🔧 An Audi suffering from underboosting and excessively high fuel pressure.
🔧 Another Audi with EGR-related issues, which had already visited Audi and several other garages, with numerous serious faults present.
🔧 A BMW with its DPF supposedly mapped out, yet the DPF was still physically fitted. Software modifications are not a substitute for the correct physical work.
🔧 An Audi in limp mode, showing no faults on diagnostics, but with numerous serious faults apparently masked through previous software modifications.

Here's the important part......

Every single vehicle mentioned above was turned away by us. We refused to carry out the work.

Why?

Because we don't believe in using software to hide mechanical problems.

In some cases, it might be tempting to apply a quick fix, perhaps even to help someone sell a vehicle on. But ultimately, it's the customer who could end up paying the price.

At Prestige Autostyling, we use Alientech KESS3 equipment and custom-written files. We believe in checking the vehicle, understanding its condition and making sure it's suitable before carrying out any modifications.

A remap should improve a vehicle, not disguise problems that are already there.

We'd rather turn a job away than take someone's money knowing the car isn't right.

Quality over quantity. Every time. 👌
