SPECIAL OFFER FOR SPRING! Underbody inspections at Southways Automotive!

Lots of owners do a grand job of looking after their classics at home, but one commodity they often don't have is a ramp to make underbody access easier.

You'd hope that MOT tests would be sufficient in future-proofing these cars, but the reality is that MOT tests are a simple formality, and only look to see if a car passes a set criteria. Unless you have yourself a good tester, who will report back to you with advice for future care, chances are even if you pass an MOT with no advisories, it doesn't mean your car has nothing to worry about.

For just *£99* Southways can carry out a detailed underbody inspection on your car and provide a written report on the findings. It's not all about looking for problems that exist, it's about looking for problems before they arise. We don't get many nice weather days in a year, so you don't want to waste it broken down on the side of the road!

Hi all, I'm having some website issues at the moment which I hope to resolve soon. I'd have resolved them a long time ago if I hadn't lost the password to it, but there we go!

It's going to be modified a bit fairly soon to adjust to the business direction (more on that later) but just to make everybody aware I haven't fallen into the ether or anything, I just forgot to renew the domain and then lost the password 😆🤦

But it will return soon!

Every March, I get a sudden rush of service bookings and I end up rushed off my feet, so this year I'm being pro-active!
I've got a few spare TVR service slots left this month. If your service is due, drop me an email or a WhatsApp and I can get you booked in.

And if it's not a TVR, but you need a service anyway and you want me to treat it like a TVR (e.g. with kid gloves), I can do that too.

Dear little thing in for service and checkover today. Just because it doesn't legally need an MOT, doesn't mean it doesn't need to be roadworthy, and entrusting that to a classic car specialist is a sensible move.

As it happens, the owner's had it MOT'd anyway! All good, drives really nicely and will be lovely to see pottering around the roads of Hampshire this summer*.

*assuming we get one and the grey watergates of hell actually end.

Well, I can now officially add front brake pipe replacement to my list of Porsche Boxster/Cayman services!

I can see why people shy away from doing this job, but it's not too bad (when you're used to replumbing old Citroens, it's a doddle!) This 987 is now wearing Kunifer front lines and will soon be upgraded to stainless flexi rears, meaning sudden brake failure due to rusted brake lines should be a thing of the past!

Cost to renew front block to mid block in Kunifer with new fittings on a 987, all inclusive - £300.00

TVR S-Series Trailing Arm Repair Jigs for sale.

I just don't have the time to dedicate to it, and it might serve owners better in the hands of someone who does.
2x ex-Adrian Venn jigs (one for V6, one for V8) and all the bits you need to refurbish rusted out arms. You could make new ones on it, in theory, but of all the arms I've ever restored, only one was too far gone.

The first £1000 in the bank takes it, and I forward any business enquiries I get at Southways on to you. They're currently in Fareham, Hampshire though I'm travelling to Warickshire on Saturday so there's potential to deliver, too.
