Quick rafting job to swap gear between the boats. Far quicker than shuffling it over in the RIB. Rafting is a really useful skill especially in busy visitors marinas. Alternating the direction of the boats is always advisable as it prevents mast damage if some helpful sole in a big motor cruiser steams past. Remember to set the fenders at gunwale hight!!

Busy day on the Eastern pontoon. Both yachts along side for the start of their weeks. Merlin is doing a bareboat charter this week but with an instructor on for a couple of days to make sure things go as planned, then they will head off to enjoy the rest of their weeks alone. Zara is doing a full private RYA course so they will be around and about in the Carrick Roads then off down to Fowey most likely.

Summer holidays might be drawing to an end but there still plenty of fun afloat to be had. We’ve got courses in September and October with spaces on, room a a couple of charters and then in November the return of our popular Sunday sails. 4 hours out and about sailing, manoeuvring, navigating and quite a lot of chatting and drinking tea, all for £60 a session. Loads of fun! ⚓️

Whether you’ve recently completed your Competent Crew, finished your Day Skipper and want to build confidence, haven’t sailed for a while and fancy getting back into it, or have never sailed before and want to give it a go — our Sunday Sails are for you.

Did you know we run RYA day skipper courses over two weekends? It’s a great way to get your training in without losing as many of the annual leave days.

We’re in full swing charter season at the moment so unfortunately we’ve not had much to show you. Once September rolls around we’ll have some boats back so we’ll make sure to get out there and make some more interesting videos. Unless you want more videos of empty moorings of course in which case we can definitely accommodate that! ⚓️
