Good evening all,

Tonight we attended a Lovely 2011 BMW 116I

Customer had a diag done before getting in touch with a cylinder 4 misfire.

So we went out to fit plugs and a coil pack at the customers request and upon removing the coils found the guarding around the electrode had been burst away causing the cylinder 4 misfire.

Below you’ll see why it’s important to keep on top of spark plugs with maintenance and why they can also cause catastrophic engine failure if it gets to a point of a cylinder and Catalyst damaging misfire.

Over the weekend, we had a Honda CRV requiring a wing mirror unit supplied and fitted. Customer had caused some accidental damage to the unit and after we had been out to try and secure it for the time being it needed a full new unit.

New unit supplied and fitted then tested. And all was Ok.

We also had a polo GTI supplying and fitting Genuine from VW discs, and EBC brake pads.

So an eventful weekend was had.

Good evening everyone,

Been working away recently and here are two Jobs I have tendered to over the weekend. Both brake jobs, both complaints of a grinding noise from the vehicles and found both cars pads worn down to metal.

The I20 was due to a seized carrier which was freed off, cleaned and re-lubricated.

The C1 was due to age of the brakes hard to believe these brakes were fitted 5 years ago and they had held out this long.

Both cars brakes fitted and tested, no more noise and a couple of seized slides rectified keeping cost down for a customer.

Lovely Clean example of a Q3 this afternoon for a :

Full service - Oil, filter, spark plugs, air filter and Pollen filter.

Front Discs and pads.

Rear Discs and pads.

Customer had stated you could smell the Brakes after a run and after removal of the pads they had de-laminated meaning the pad surface had broken away from the back plate.

Both sets of discs were corroded pretty badly on the inside and were at end of life as you will see in the pictures to follow.

After a couple of hours the service was carried out and the brakes were fitted we had a happy customer once again.

Don’t get caught short over the festive season let a profesional have a check over your car.
