Rental Agent – Torquay / Totnes
£30,250 per year + up to £2,400 performance bonus
Full-time | Permanent | Starting October 2026
Simple Car & Van Rental is growing, and we're looking for a friendly, reliable and customer-focused person to join our team.
This isn't your typical office job. You'll be dealing with customers, cars and vans every day, and you'll play an important part in making sure our customers have a great experience.
What you'll be doing
You'll be involved in all aspects of the rental operation, including:
🚗 Customer vehicle collections and returns
🔑 Vehicle handovers and rental agreements
📸 Vehicle condition and damage checks
📞 Answering calls and dealing with enquiries
💻 Processing bookings
🧽 Helping keep vehicles clean and ready for customers
🚐 Moving vehicles between our local locations
🚉 Supporting our meet & greet service in Exeter
💬 Providing great customer service
💷 Introducing customers to relevant additional products and services
🤝 Working with the team to keep everything running smoothly
You'll need to be happy getting stuck in - one minute you could be handing over a car to a customer, the next you could be moving vehicles around the fleet.
👤 Who we're looking for
We're more interested in your attitude and personality than whether you've worked in car rental before.
You'll be:
Friendly and approachable
Reliable and punctual
Comfortable talking to customers
Organised and good with details
Confident using Tech
Happy working indoors and outdoors
Comfortable driving cars and vans
Calm under pressure
A team player who gets things done
A full UK driving licence is essential.
Experience in car rental, vehicle hire, hospitality, retail, travel or customer service is useful - but full training will be provided.
💷 What you'll get
£30,250 basic salary
Plus up to £200 per month performance bonus — giving you the opportunity to earn up to £32,650 per year.

🕐 Working hours
Monday–Friday: 08:30–17:30
Plus alternate Saturdays: 08:30–13:00
The position will be based at either our Torquay or Totnes location, depending on the successful candidate and business requirements.
