A 7.0L LS7 V8 swap and a ground-up restoration on a rare Mosler MT900 supercar! 🤯🏎️

At Landroid Motors, classic Land Rover Defenders are our bread and butter. But when a client asked us to extract the 5.7L engine from his Mosler for a Defender V8 conversion and drop a highly-tuned 7.0L LS7 back into the supercar, we couldn't resist.

What followed was a massive restoration project involving bespoke engineering, custom suspension fabrication, and a complete chassis overhaul. 🔧

Back in the daylight after years in barn storage! 🚜💨

This classic 1971 Land Rover Series Hi-cap pickup (unusual on a Series 2a) has just landed on the workshop lift for a full recommissioning. She’s been sitting tucked away undisturbed under a thick blanket of dust for over six years, but underneath all that dirt lies an extraordinarily complete, solid vehicle. It has already benefited from a galvanised chassis, so this will be a great base for someone to have restored.

Take a look inside - the interior trim is in fantastic shape, clearly having some time and money spent on it by a previous owner, the pick-up bed is surprisingly clean, and under the bonnet, the original 4-cylinder diesel is ready for us to wake it up.

There is nothing quite like breathing life back into an iconic piece of British motoring history.

🚨 Beware of what’s hiding underneath! 🚨

When this customer brought their Land Rover in for a starting fault, the chassis looked okay at first glance. But a closer inspection revealed a mechanic’s worst nightmare: pure body filler! 🤯

A previous owner or garage had literally bogged over severe structural corrosion just to hide the rust and make it look solid. Not only is this incredibly frustrating for the new owner to discover, but it’s also a massive safety hazard. 🛑

There’s no patching up a bodge job this bad. To get this Landy back on the road safely and permanently, fitted a brand new, fully galvanized chassis from Richards Chassis. ✨

No more hidden rust, no more nasty surprises—just a rock-solid foundation that’s ready to outlast us all.

A nice way to start the year!

One of the rarest P38A models - a Holland & Holland special edition with only 93 believed to have been made in RHD for the UK.

Still looking great in Tintern Green, a visit to Landroid for some TLC and back on the road again.

We explored the wild beauty of the Elan Valley, traversed rivers and cliff‑side tracks, and tackled the iconic Strata Florida trail across the Cambrian Mountains.
