The European Parliament past legalisation banning the production and sales of vented and condenser tumble dryers from 2026. It now transpires that heat pump dryers do not conform to their set regulations. One issue is heat pump dryers if placed in a garage/shed will not operate in cold winter conditions.

The elevated washing machine and tumble dryer are becoming a popular choice when renewing a kitchen/utility area. It aids the loading/unloading of the appliances but causes issues for service engineers carrying out repairs. The leading manufactures have been sending out guidance to engineers in relation to this situation.
1 The customer will be asked to have appliances removed from elevated position and placed on hard floor.
2 Any calls in relation to excess noise/vibrations or damaged caused from appliance falling from elevated position will not be covered by warranty.
Manufacturers state under health and safety that washing machine and tumble dryers are a two person lift. When a service Engineer visits your home he comes alone. If you cannot lift it down please don't expect the service Engineer to have super powers for lifting.

I have received numerous calls today ref appliances especially fridge/ freezers not working after the storm. The common denominator between these calls is a generator was used to power them during the black out. Unfortunately circuit boards do not like older style generators.
