🔧 Another busy day in the workshop with a mix of upgrades and fault-finding! 🚐😎

First up was a newly purchased Swift Kontiki in for the installation of a superb Fiamma F45s wind-out awning supplied by 👍

With the awning fitted, the owners now have a fantastic outdoor living space to relax in, enjoy a brew, or simply escape the sun when they’re away touring. A simple upgrade that makes a huge difference to motorhome life!

Next through the doors was a stunning Three Bridges conversion for with a couple of annoying issues that needed tracking down.

🚿 The hand basin and shower were draining extremely slowly. After some investigation, we discovered the waste water tank had no vent holes, meaning the water was effectively trying to drain against a tank full of trapped air! A couple of carefully positioned vent holes later and the system was draining considerably faster 👍

💧 The fresh water level readings on the Victron control panel were also all over the place. We drained the tank, checked the sender and wiring installation, confirmed everything was connected correctly and then recalibrated the level sensor parameters. After testing, the readings were accurate once again and everything was working exactly as it should 😎

It’s often the small faults that can cause the biggest frustrations when you’re away in your motorhome, but a little investigation and the right knowledge can soon get things sorted.

🌧️ Dodging the rain in Ellesmere Port yesterday while carrying out another annual habitation check! 🚐💨

This lovely Swift Select returned to us for its third habitation check, and we’re pleased to report it received another clean bill of health 👍

As an NCC Approved Workshop Scheme (AWS) member, we’re able to complete and update the manufacturer’s online service records, helping to keep your warranty intact while ensuring your motorhome remains safe, compliant and ready for adventure.

🔋 Lithium Upgrade Ready! 🔋

Today we had Mike’s lovely new Pilote P696 in for a simple but essential electrical upgrade before fitting a LiFePO4 battery system.

Whilst most of the factory-fitted electrical setup was already compatible with lithium technology, the original split-charge system wasn’t up to the job 🤦‍♂️

The solution? A superb Victron DC-DC charger 👍

Using the existing wiring loom where possible, we were able to keep the installation neat, tidy and discreet, tucking the charger away alongside the existing electrical components for a clean factory-style finish 😎

Why is this upgrade important? Modern Euro 6 vehicles use smart alternators which often won’t correctly charge lithium batteries through traditional split-charge systems. A DC-DC charger ensures your leisure battery receives the correct charging profile, helping maximise battery life and performance both on and off-grid.

Another motorhome ready for future adventures with a charging system that’s fit for purpose! 🚐⚡

🏙️ THAT’S IT FOLKS… WE’RE OFF TO THE BIG SMOKE! 😎

After another busy few weeks of caravan servicing, habitation checks, repairs and upgrades, it’s time for us to take a well-earned extended weekend break.

KamperBitz is now closed until Monday 15th June while we swap toolboxes for sightseeing and head off to the big smoke for a few days! 🚐💨

We’ll still have limited access to emails during our break, but please note that we won’t be responding to phone calls, text messages or WhatsApp until we return.

A huge thank you to all of our customers for keeping us busy and supporting our small family business. We genuinely appreciate every booking, recommendation and kind word. ❤️

❄️ AIR CONDITIONING? IN A CLASSIC HYMER? ABSOLUTELY! 😎

We had Mark’s classic Hymer in with us yesterday for a serious comfort upgrade… the awesome Truma Aventa Comfort air conditioning system! 👍

🔧 First, the old leaking rooflight above the kitchen area was removed.
🔧 The roof aperture was thoroughly cleaned and prepared.
🔧 A cable channel was carefully cut to route the 230v mains supply.
🔧 The cable was fed through to a dedicated fused spur.
🔧 Then it was time for the heavy lifting as the new Truma Aventa Comfort was positioned and secured in place.

The latest Generation 2 air diffuser looks fantastic, the Bluetooth controller makes operation incredibly simple, and every new Aventa Comfort now comes with a heating function too! 🔥❄️

Perfect for keeping cool during those hot summer adventures and taking the chill off those cooler mornings and evenings.

It’s amazing how modern technology can transform even a classic motorhome without compromising its character. 😍

🚐💨 Chris brought his brand new Chausson Sport Line to us for one of the most popular upgrades we fit before customers head off on their adventures – a refillable LPG system!

Rather than relying on swapping gas bottles or hunting around for stock when away, the Gaslow system allows the bottle to be refilled directly at LPG stations, making it a far more convenient and cost-effective solution for regular travellers.

For this installation we fitted:
✅ New 11kg Gaslow refillable cylinder
✅ New high-quality pigtail
✅ External filling point neatly mounted in the gas locker door
✅ Full leak testing and operational checks
✅ Supplied the full European adapter kit

The locker door fill point gives a clean factory-style finish whilst keeping everything easily accessible when it’s time to refill.

With more owners touring further afield and spending longer away, refillable LPG systems continue to be one of the best upgrades you can make to a motorhome.

✅ ANOTHER YEAR, ANOTHER FAULTLESS PASS! ✅

Today was our annual AWS Approved Mobile Workshop inspection and we’re delighted to say we’ve achieved another faultless pass! 🎉

Being an NCC Approved Workshop isn’t something that’s handed out lightly. Every year our business, processes, equipment, documentation and workmanship are independently assessed to ensure we’re meeting the highest standards within the leisure vehicle industry.

For our customers, it means you can have complete confidence that your caravan, motorhome or campervan is being worked on by a workshop that has been independently inspected and approved.

🚐 Suspension upgrade day! 😎

Today we had this lovely Adria Twin in for a complete suspension upgrade, fitting uprated Koni shock absorbers and springs to improve both ride comfort and ground clearance.

As with many jobs, it sounds simple on paper… but there was plenty involved! Wheels off, dashboard stripped, original front suspension removed, components transferred across, new Koni units built up and installed before everything was carefully reassembled. Once the front end was complete, it was on to replacing the rear shock absorbers to finish the transformation.

The difference was immediately noticeable. 👍

✅ Increased ground clearance
✅ Improved ride comfort
✅ Better handling and stability
✅ More confidence on uneven roads and campsites

These upgrades can make a huge difference to the driving experience, especially on fully loaded campervans and motorhomes that spend plenty of time touring.

Best of all, everything was completed and ready for collection the very same day! 🥰

The back of the van is finally getting the upgrade it deserved! 😎

With the fuel drain kit now gone, it was time to rethink the layout and make the most of the space for KamperBitz.

✅ Full side racking system for spares, consumables and specialist equipment

When you’re working mobile every day, organisation is everything. The better the setup, the quicker we can get jobs completed and keep our customers on the road enjoying their adventures.

It’s amazing how much difference a well-planned van layout can make to productivity. We can’t wait to put it to work over the coming weeks! 👍
