Another DV5 in for the upgraded 8mm timing chain kit 🔧

This one came in after the original 7mm chain had snapped — exactly why we’re seeing more and more of these engines coming through with chain-related failures.

💥 7mm chain snapped
➡️ Engine stripped down
➡️ 7mm setup removed
➡️ Upgraded 8mm chain kit fitted
➡️ Correctly timed and checked over before going back into service

⚠️ If you’ve got a DV5, don’t wait until the chain snaps. A timing chain failure can turn a preventative repair into a seriously expensive engine repair.

Another mobile mechanic had already been working on this one… and unfortunately, the customer was left with more problems than they started with. 😳

Don’t worry we’ve corrected all the work and you can answer your customer now and collect your jack and axle stand from the customer. We’re not going to name and shame you either. We’re not about that.

When we got the vehicle, we found a mess that needed putting right, including:

Today we were called out to a 2026 Vauxhall Vivaro at a petrol station after it had been misfuelled.
