🚗 Jaguar XE – Cooling System Investigation 🔧

This Jaguar XE came in with a loss of coolant.
After pressure testing, we traced the issue to a porous lower thermostat pipe.

Although the owner was confident the engine hadn’t overheated, we carried out a head gasket test as a precaution, which is always best practice on cooling system faults. ✅

Parts are now on order from Jaguar, and once fitted the car will be back on the road as intended.

Mercedes

Customer reported the heater fan not working, then suddenly coming on after a long drive. After parking up, the fan continued running with the ignition off, and by the next day the battery was completely flat.

🔧 Diagnosis:
The heater fan resistor (fan control unit) was found to be heavily corroded. Although the fan itself switched off, the faulty resistor was still drawing power in the background, slowly draining the battery overnight.

This is a common Mercedes fault and a good example of why proper diagnosis matters. Without checking properly, it’s easy to blame the battery or replace the wrong parts.

Crank No Start After a DIY Repair? 🔧

This Volvo wouldn’t start after the owner replaced the clutch themselves.
The engine was cranking fine but wouldn’t fire.
A quick on-site diagnostic found the issue 👉 a damaged ignition coil connector.
It looked connected but wasn’t actually making contact.

Temporary repair carried out, fault codes cleared, and it started straight away ✅
