🚨 URGENT – Proposed Parking Restrictions Could Force Brakesafe to Close 🚨
The City of Edinburgh Council is proposing new parking restrictions in our area that would massively reduce available spaces and introduce expensive permits — making it nearly impossible for us to operate as we do now.
These changes would:
❌ Remove essential customer parking
❌ Limit the number of vehicles we can take in each day
❌ Cost £3,600+ per year in permits
❌ Restrict access throughout our full working day
💔 After 40 years of serving the local community, these changes could force Brakesafe to close. Without your support, your trusted, honest, and reliable garage could be lost.

Response detail (copy & paste):
I object to the introduction of yellow lines across Brakesafe Garage forecourt (3 St Alban’s Road, annotated as ‘B’ on the consultation map) alongside the introduction of ‘Shared Parking’ on St Alban’s Road opposite the Garage (annotated as G on the map). I also object to extending the resident’s parking restrictions all the way up St Alban’s Road, especially as they would be in operation all day during the business’ opening hours (annotated as ‘F’ on the map).
On top of removing current spaces by way of yellow lines, there would be a substantial cost to Brakesafe to enable them to be able to carry out their business due to the huge cost of permits that would be needed (approx. £3600 a year). In addition, spaces would be limited to the maximum number of permits that would be permitted to be purchased. All of these measures would severely limit the available spaces for Brakesafe to access in order to operate effectively and therefore may be forced to close. It is likely that the introduction of these measures would result in the loss of this well-used and highly valued local business'.
