This isn’t a post I wanted to write, but January has come and gone, and I’ve been struggling with a significant number of customers who haven’t shown up or cancelled their bookings within 24 hours. This is really affecting my business. I had 70 cars booked in for January, but 15 of them didn’t turn up. My diary has always been pretty full, and I’m very grateful for it, so when someone doesn’t show up for their booking, it means I could have accommodated someone else. As a small business owner with a young family and a wife on maternity leave, losing 3 to 4 of my jobs a week is making a big impact. I understand that January is a tough month for many people, and I know unexpected things can come up, but I kindly request that you give me at least 48 hours’ notice so I can book in another car.
If this continues, I will be forced to introduce a deposit scheme, where you will need to pay before I can book your car.
