Acid in bird poo eats into car paint and can cause permanent damage. In this hot weather it’s even worse as the heat bakes it on faster.

If you see bird poo on your car, use a wet paper towel to soak it until it softens, then gently wipe it off or rinse it off with water. A good wax and ceramic coatings can help prevent damage, but it’s still important to remove them ASAP.

If the damage is already done, then it may need a good machine polish if superficial, or in worst case scenarios when it’s truly etched into the clear coat, it may need repainting.

Thank you to all who braved the delightful weather and called in at BMB this morning to celebrate our 10 year anniversary, hopefully Mark & I found time to speak to you all. It was great to see so many treasured examples of cars (and guitar) we’ve worked on. If you have any photos please share them. The cake and brews went down very well!

Hello friends, followers and customers past and present....
Tomorrow we are celebrating 10 years of Bury Motor Bodies Ltd, so we are closed for general work enquiries and estimates on Saturday 11th of April.
We are however open, from 10am-12noon, if you'd like to call in and join us for a piece of cake 🍰 , a
brew ☕️ , or just a general natter. All are welcome, and there will be special gifts for those of you who turn up in something we've painted in the past.
As most of you know, the yard is a bit rough & potholed (much like all of Lancashire's roads!) so please take care when coming in.

If you’ve never heard of Fire Safety Sticks, have a look. This small stick is a highly effective fire extinguisher which doesn’t leave a mess. They discharge for 50 seconds (more if you buy the bigger one) and are small enough to fit in your glove box (or in our experience perfectly in a Porsche cayman door cubby!). We have them in our cars and one in the kitchen at home. Small, light, can be used on virtually any type of fire, and they last 15 years without maintenance!

We’re not affiliated with them but they’re a really nifty bit of safety kit to have handy in case of your worst nightmare happening and your pride and joy going up in flames. They’ve also got 15% off with code CAR15 at the moment.

Last weekend we headed to the Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show at Birmingham NEC. There were some beautiful cars on show, and we got a little tempted by the auction, but we came away with just a new hammer for Rob!

My (Liz) favourite was the Rennsport 911 on the Autoglym stand. Rob’s was the Maserati Quattroporte with the super luxurious armchair seats! What’s your favourite?
