Wight Shipyard Co is Europe's leading high speed craft and aluminium ship builder with state-of-the-art facilities on Britain's Isle of Wight. The business started life as Shemara Refit LLP, itself born out of a unique project to manage the revival of a magnificent motor yacht to her former glory. Built in 1938 by JI Thornycroft, Shemara was once one of the world's largest and most famous private

yachts.​

With a reputation for excellent management capabilities and quality workmanship Wight Shipyard Co (WSC) specialises in aluminium vessels for the commercial sector while the yacht construction and restoration activities are provided by sister company Southampton Marine Services. In 2016 WSC delivered a new 40 metre high speed passenger ferry for Red Funnel. Operating the Isle of Wight services between Southampton and Cowes, this first fast ferry to be built in Britain in over 16 years was delivered on time and on budget.
