We can’t make it a new door but we can do this!

Very nasty damage to this Audi Q2. Hit very hard over the upper bracing structure and approximately 30% of the damage is inaccessible. Customer wasn’t promised "brand new door" status however was promised a very high quality repair. Instead of a door full of filler, 2 panel repaint and a 3 day stay in a body shop, car was returned to the customer in a matter of hours.
Various stages throughout the repair and one of the tools used to hook under the brace.

Currently, I am only working from my premises in Chester Le Street, all “fixed price” quotations and repairs to be carried out there.

It’s through the body line, can you still fix it?

In short, yes!

The swage line, as well as being for cosmetic appearance gives the panel strength and rigidity. It is usually the strongest area of the panel and can often save the panel during an impact, certainly lessening and helping to contain the damage.

Having said that, this one definitely gave me a run for my money and was definitely an ability/ patience tester.

As you can see, the bodyline has been completely destroyed for approximately 1- 1/2 inches. This had to be completely rebuilt using specialist tools taking great care to keep the paintwork intact. Lots of heat was used as the potential for paint giving way was quite high. I use the lines as a guide to see where I’m pushing and area can look "worked" until complete when all the finessing is carried out. We also had to use a lateral tension system which ultimately pulls the panel in an outward direction helping the metal to flow in the right direction as we are pushing.

This took longer than I had anticipated though was still complete in 2 hours.

Customer was delighted.

With hammers and that!

Absolutely huge vandal damage to this Qashqai rear quarter panel.

3 choices here:

1: Replace the panel which is major surgery for a car, not to mention extremely costly.

2: Pin pull and coat the entire panel with filler and repaint.

3: A high quality paintless repair maintaining all original parts and finish.

The panel as well as needing to come out also needed to be pulled to the side. The yellow pad was glued to the panel and then tensioned from the B pillar. This allows the metal to flow when releasing the tension with the initial glue pulling.

The bulk was lifted quite quickly though the panel was still very ripply which is where the time and skill come in. The bumper was removed and access gained via the vent and also small holes behind the light cluster.

Paint was already missing on panel edge near the light though the customer was happy with a simple touch up to finish.

I’ve showed the damage at different stages, using the light so you can see what I see.

This car was ready to be driven away the same day.

People often ask me, “how on earth do you do that?”

I’ve pictured the tools that I used for this particular job, but prity much just hammers and that!!

I feel sick🫣🤢
When the man at the local garage says “yeah, we can pop those dents out for you”!
Trust me, he can’t.

Believe it or not, those lumps aren’t part of the impact but the result of someone believing that metal just springs back into place. Not only did he make the job a lot harder than it already was but added quite a few ££££ to the job.

It was explained to the customer that the paint had already split in a couple of places due to the excessive pushing and it would need touch up on completion.

Perfection wasn’t promised, only best I could.

Bananas!!
This damage was horrendous!!
Caused when the customer unfortunately reversed into a post causing an untold amount of damage to the panel. Bent like a banana and causing crumples on the underside.

We had advised the customer that the best solution was obviously to replace the panel. She had been quoted, £700 to repair a dent in the door and approx £2k to replace the tailgate.

We offered a damage limitation repair which wasn’t promised as perfect. Although a good 95-96% finish was achieved, fell short of about 4-5% which was limited to the very lower edge and barely visible.

All the stops were pulled out and vehicle was returned to the customer the very same afternoon.

Nasty nasty!
A couple of brutal kicks and this is the result.

This BMW was in outstanding condition and the guy was understandably devastated to find his pride and joy in such a state.

After being to a couple of body shops but not wishing to have filler and foreign paint applied, was recommended to give us a call here at Dent-Tek.

Although we couldn’t guarantee “pin perfection”, 90-95% was our promise.

This repair was carried out at our premises in Chester Le Street and vehicle was returned to the customer the same day.

Anyone who works with steel will understand the difficulties encountered when working with swage lines and concave areas of panel.

Brutal!!
This was horrendous damage caused to an otherwise stunning BMW.

Customer was told by a bodyshop that the bonnet simply needed replacing. There was no structural damage to the bracing and although hugely unsightly, was merely cosmetic.

On fully assessing the damage, I told the customer that I would be willing to give it my best shot. Keeping his pride and joy filler and paint free was hugely important to him.

Here is the repair and hopefully an insight into the process.

Rather a nasty hit to this otherwise beautiful little Peugeot.

Door had been opened hard against a post and the customer was absolutely gutted. She came to Dent-Tek after reading our reviews and asked if I could get it “perfect”.

I can only try!

This repair was completed at our premises using the latest glue pulling technology and customised tools in a matter of hours.

Quite Nasty!
This damage was caused when a truck decided to side swipe this otherwise perfect Scirroco.

As you can see the damage is quite substantial, not only cutting through the main panel but also destroying the rear bodyline too.

97% of the damage was repaired using our extensive glue pulling equipment and hammer blending, remainder being finessed with a tight access PDR tool. Small wheel arch retainers can be removed which does allow a small amount of access to the main area.

This damage was repaired at the shop without fillers or paint and complete within the day.

Been a while!

Rather a large unsightly dent caused when an elderly guy drove into the side of this Punto.

Although to promise “pin perfection” would be rather a high bar to jump, great results can be achieved with the right level of skill and equipment.

With our High Tech glue pulling system along with sufficient access to the rear, specialised tools we managed superb results.

This was repaired in our shop in under a day without the need for fillers or paint.
