Bit more progress on the Subaru we’ve managed to get the passenger side sill
welded up and just needs grinding back.

Yet again we have also uncovered more problems and found the passenger outer floor section has rotted out so that will now need repairing.

We also started on the driver’s side but soon realised that this side is going to be more off a task to carry out the repairs due to the fuel tank filler neck and fuel tank. All the fuel tank and filler neck will need to be removed for fire risk and safety reasons.

The customer has also we go the full hog and request to have the front and rear wind screen removed to carry out repairs around the top off the front screen and re-seal the rear screen to repair a water ingress issue so this is turning in to a restoration project every day.

Update on the the Ford ranger

Engine is now all fully rebuilt and fitted back into the vehicle as you can see from the the photo below 4 out of 5 piston had suffered catastrophic failure and started to melt

All 5 piston was replaced and liners was replaced along with the relevant hard wear

The vehicle has now been handed back to the customer and advised to keep the revs under 3000rpm for the next 850miles to help running the newly rebuilt engine in and return for and oil and filter change

Update on the Subaru Impreza.

The passenger side is coming together now we’ve got all the inner arch repair and outer arch welded in then also got all the outer skins on to. Now we will move onto the passenger sills

2016 ford focus come if for an issue with the hand brake and not effective enough.

We quickly diagnosed the drives cable was seized and as a result was making the drivers rear brake to stick on

✅Replaced both rear brake drum cables
✅Replaced brake shoes
✅Replaced centre brake cables

Good customer of GLQ motors dropped off his 2020 bmw m5. As you can see from the photos there is some fire damage.

We will carry out a full inspection and get the relevant part on order and set about repairing all the damage wires. We have to replace the main power cable that run’s front to back of the car before tempting to start the car on will keep you up dated on this one to.

Update on the Ford ranger. The engine is out of the vehicle and all stripped down ready for the rebuild. As we suspected the egr cooler has failed and leaking coolant.

Here at GLQ motors we don’t just carry out your every day servicing and vehicle repairs but we also carry out welding repairs all the way from mot welding repairs to full restoration.

So before Xmas a customer has left us with 2000 Subaru Impreza wrx for some much needed welding. As with most welding jobs as soon as with started getting into it and cutting the rust out and treat the area’s it soon turns into a bigger job and more of a mini restoration.

Both rear suspension top mounts points needs repair along with inner archs. Then we can start carrying out repair to the outer arches as well as the inner and outer sills. We will keep you updated on this one.
