⛔️ A38 UPDATE - 15/11 8am.

The A38 remains CLOSED in both directions between the KFC traffic lights and Morrisons roundabout following flooding yesterday.

The road will require cleaning of silt and debris before it can reopen.

Sherwood Road is clear of obstructions but is likely to be very busy.

⛔️ UPDATE 2:34am - The A38 remains closed due to partial flooding and debris in the road.

⛔️ The A38 is blocked in both directions between the Morrisons roundabout and KFC traffic lights due to flooding.

The temporary barriers along with work materials are in the middle of the carriageway along with stranded vehicles.

Please avoid using Sherwood Road as it is badly flooded in places along with displaced manhole covers sticking up.

⛔️ A38 UPDATE - There is no vehicular or pedestrian access across the A38 from either approach of New Road.

The Carnforth Road/ Fordhouse Road footbridge is confirmed to be OPEN and pedestrians are still able to cross the A38 between Old Station Road/ Bant Mill Road and Stonehouse Road.

UPDATE: The M40 between Junction 15 and 12 is now open in both directions following a serious collision last night, our colleagues at National Highways have confirmed.

Emergency services are currently in attendance on the M40 between junctions 12-13 following a collision.

Both sides of the the carriageway are currently closed, and closures are likely to be in place throughout the evening.

Motorists are asked to please find an alternative route.
