Good morning everyone, as part of our expansion and development, we now have a workshop so we can tackle larger projects and repairs.

As you can see we have a fully fitted lift and we are now taking bookings on clutches again, even 4x4’s

This is a dedicated facility for this and timing chain and belts.

It can be a drop off workshop or we can arrange pick up fix and return of your vehicle all by prior arrangement

MOBILE WORK WILL CONTINUE AS BEFORE

Here is our customers Range Rover Evoque which blew the hydraulic slave cylinder, pedal to the floor symptoms. The clutch was soaked and so to the flywheel.

Customer purchased a car privately and previous owner had the cambelt and water pump replaced 2023. I have seen the invoice and the “part numbers” used to replace the items, which are made up. The garage is real.

My customer tried to contact the garage in Peterborough to investigate and sadly they’ve slammed the phone down whilst hurling abuse when asked “did you change the cambelt kit” they’ve definitely invoiced and charged the customer for the work.

Luckily the water pump failed and was leaking coolant heavily, or this would’ve gone unnoticed until the belt failed, the belt is threadbare and in very poor condition.

Be very careful who you trust with your car

I’ve told a mobile “remaper” to walk away and stop ripping my cutomer off….

Now I have a hatred of these charlatans for good reason, having been approached by companies to do this as a business and listened to how it works, I couldn’t ever think of doing it…… here’s how it works

-You call someone, they take your details and book a slot with their IT guy in said company, he will charge credits for the map and bolt on bits (EGR remove etc)

-This costs the remaper £20-30-50 depending on what they get, they will then quote you £4-500+ pounds for the privilege of them downloading software into your car……. 10 or more times what they pay, for wha is basically an update…. A software update

-Not at any stage is any check carried out to ensure it will be safe save for a quick code check to see if there’s a fault on the engine.

-This lad had no engineering knowledge nor qualifications by his admission….. then towards the end of the conversation, level 2-3 engineering…..

Now, I’ll protect my sector with passion, and these charlatans are just ripping people off

GO TO A PROFESSIONAL OR DONT DO IT AT ALL

you’ll jus end up out of pocket and with a broken vehicle which we mechanics then have to recover……

Oooh exciting

So things have been in the planning stages for a while but now nearing completion

Most of our customers new and old won’t notice much change.

We still provide a great service, still a great price, still the ONLY FULLY QUALIFIED AND REGISTERED MECHANIC (“Certified Automotive Engineer” via the IMI) in the area, and yes that includes main dealers!!!! 😳

BUT we are adding more to our business, stay tuned!!!

they have a terrible reputation in America, and from my experience, with good reason.

This isn’t old enough to get passed it warranty period, fitted by another garage/mechanic. Customer requested I swap it for them (they can’t find receipts or who did it)

Last month I swapped out the last ever NAPA alternator that was on my books, it lasted less than 18 months.

I stopped fitting these parts due to the amount of warranty work I was having to do (the part is free but my time isn’t paid for under parts warranty)

Luckily I changed parts companies and don’t see these items anymore

Ask what your mechanic is fitting and be aware of reputation of parts

I’m just supporting England ladies rugby in the women’s World Cup right now!

If you can’t support good English performances with the flag of my nation…… well sorry people you’re wired up wrong.

After playing rugby most of my life both military and outside, having helped coach ladies teams around the country….. well I’m incredibly proud of the “Roses” so far

So to the certain few ladies in and around Downham giving me filthy looks and shaking their heads, your judgement has been noted

Good morning all, just a quick note that I’m off to see my dad for a few days, he’s not been well for a while and he’s getting some mechanic and supervisor “Rook” hugs to cheer him up….

I will be unavailable on the phone until Tuesday 5th August (next week) I’ll pick up texts as and when I can.

Thank you all for your understanding especially everyone who helped by accepting either a postponement, or their appointment being moved forward, it means a lot.
