Star student alert. Huge congratulations to Alex, who passed both his Module 1 and Module 2 tests today and is now a full motorcycle licence holder.

Alex did all of his training with us here at A1, from start to finish, and he absolutely smashed it. Two tests, one day, and a full licence at the end of it. That's a proper day's work.

Well done Alex, it's been a pleasure having you with us. Enjoy the open road, and ride safe.

A bit of A1 history.

A1 Motorcycle Training was founded by Mr John Brown in 1990, making A1 the oldest motorcycle training school in the Doncaster area.

In 2006, the school was taken over by Paul Shaw, Tom's dad.

In 2012, it became A1 Motorcycle Training and Sales Limited.

This October, A1 has been handed down to the second generation, Tom Shaw, and we're back to being A1 Motorcycle Training.

36 years on, the name is the same and the job is the same: getting people riding.

Thank you to everyone who has trained with us over the years. Here's to the next chapter.

So who's behind the big plans? Meet Tom, A1's lead instructor and business owner. He's who you'll be learning with, and he's the one who trains the rest of the A1 instructors too.

A1 was founded by Tom's dad, and Tom has now taken it over. He started riding trials bikes at 7 and competed all over the country until he was 28. Along the way he has done motocross, enduro, road riding and track racing, ridden all over Europe, and served in the army from 2003 to 2009.

He's got years and years of track day and race experience behind him, plus 13 years of instructing. When you train with A1, that's the experience you're learning from.

Have you ever thought about testing the limits of your bike in a safer environment? A1 can take you there. We can't say any more just yet.

We're working on big things for next year. Watch this space.

A1 Motorcycle Training is already the number one motorcycle training school in the area, and that's thanks to every rider who has trained with us and passed. But we're not standing still. Later next year, we're aiming a lot higher than just the local area. How about the biggest motorcycle training school in the country?

We can't say too much yet. Let's just say some of it might take us somewhere a little faster than the test centre... keep an eye on the background of this picture.

A double celebration at A1 today. Huge congratulations to Nathan and James, who both passed their Module 1 test today at the first attempt.

Mod 1 is the one that gets the nerves going, with the slow control, the U-turn, the emergency stop and the swerve all done in front of the examiner. To get it done first time, both of you, is a brilliant result and well deserved.

Next up is Module 2, and we'll be right there with you for that one too. Enjoy today, both of you.
