St Mary’s Garage has a reputation for top quality workmanship and efficiency. This results in an ever increasing workload, and therefore at this time we are looking to recruit more staff. It is possible that a trainee or apprentice mechanic would be considered for this role, depending on previous and relevant experience.
Initially an application including details and ambitions should be sent in writing to the undersigned.
We also need an assistant for Saturday morning work, which will include general tidying and cleaning of the workspace and equipment. This would suit a younger person for the hours of 9 until 12 o’clock.

We are seeking an Office Manager to join our team at St Mary's Garage. This pivotal role involves overseeing daily office operations, ensuring efficient communication, and managing administrative tasks that support our commitment to exceptional service in the automotive industry.

Salary: Negotiable (depending on experience)
Full time Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings on rotation

Responsibilities

Manage daily office operations to ensure workshop efficiency and effectiveness.
Handle customer inquiries and maintain professional phone etiquette.
Organising bookings / appointments
Discussing vehicle repair work with customers and giving advice
Checking stock and ordering parts and equipment

Requirements

Proven experience as an Office Manager or in a similar administrative role.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Familiarity with Outlook, Word and ideally garage based invoicing systems
Ability to supervise a team effectively and foster a collaborative environment.

***THE IMPORTANCE OF TIMING BELT INTERVALS***

We’ve recently had this 2021 Vauxhall in for a timing belt replacement where the manufacture’s recommend replacement interval is either 64,000 miles or every 6 years.

It’s fair to say given the condition of the timing belt on this one, that it was time to replace it and it was prudent not to wait another 2 years!

***ANNOUNCEMENT***

St Mary’s Garage is privileged to announce that we are going to be involved in an exciting project in 2025! We are to be entrusted with the preparation and support of a Historic Formula 2 Chevron B25 race car running a 2 litre Cosworth BDG engine, producing approximately 290 BHP at 9000 rpm!

The car performed well in its introductory season in 2024 and whilst this was more for the purpose of testing, it successfully achieved one 4th place, one 3rd place and then a class win at Donnington.

Lots of work and plenty of upgrades have been carried out over the winter months for its first outing being planned for testing at Brands Hatch on the 18th of February, and its first race of the 2025 season, again at Brands Hatch on the 29th of March.

We have this brilliant Peugeot 2008 1.2 petrol ‘Active’, 5 speed manual in grey with JUST TWO previous keepers and only 81,685 miles on the clock!!

This well presented, 5 door family hatchback benefits from electric front windows, Air-Conditioning, DAB entertainment system with Bluetooth/Aux in, 2 keys and plenty of service history / stamps in the book. Most importantly it has had the timing belt replaced at the main dealer in May of last year which is of the ‘wet-belt’ configuration and a very costly job which the new owner won’t have to worry about. We will issue this lovely car with a fresh MOT for its new owner!
