How an Exhaust Affects Power & Weight
Changing your exhaust does not just change the sound. It changes the way your bike breathes. And that means a lot more than you might think π
β‘ Power
A well-engineered exhaust improves how quickly exhaust gases leave the engine.
When the flow is smoother and back-pressure is reduced, the engine can draw in more air and fuel, which means more efficient combustion and stronger torque.
On average, riders can see 1β3 hp gains with a slip-on, and up to 5β7 hp with a full system and proper tuning. It is not about huge numbers. It is about sharper throttle response and smoother acceleration you feel instantly.
ποΈ Weight
Stock exhausts are heavy.
Switching to stainless steel, titanium, or carbon fibre can cut 2β4 kg easily and that matters.
Less weight = better handling, faster transitions, and improved power-to-weight ratio (often more noticeable than raw horsepower).
π§ ECU Mapping
If you upgrade your exhaust but keep the stock ECU map, you might not get the full benefit.
No remapping is needed, but if you want to get the most out of your setup, tuning ensures the engine runs perfectly with the new airflow, unlocking extra torque and preventing lean or rich mixtures.
π The Sound
And of course - the sound is part of the performance too.
A free-flowing system lets the bike breathe naturally, giving that deep, confident tone every rider knows and feels.
Whether it is about speed, balance or emotion - a well-built exhaust system transforms your entire ride.
