A nice little project been at between customers with some help from the old man 👴
Bought a lorry a little while ago with gearbox problems. Pulled the box out and stripped down to the casing finding that the main box was a bit far gone (bearings spun in the casing, gears seized on the primary shaft, bit of a mess 😬)
As luck would have it we had half a good(ish) gearbox that came out of one Neil Passey lorries. However that was pulled out because it was crunching in the half gears but at the time there was a good gearbox sat in the barn so made sense just to swap it. So that gearbox then still had to come apart 😅
Long story short:
Donor box stripped and new splitter kit put into it.
Original ranger and retarder swapped over.
New clutch and release fork rollers.
Out of the barn for a spin last weekend and going up and down the box lovely 🥰
Nice change of scenery from the endless inspections, brakes, clutches etc etc 😅
