Overview
We are seeking a skilled MOT Tester to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting safety and emissions tests on vehicles to ensure compliance with legal standards. Duties
Conduct MOT tests on a variety of vehicle makes and models in accordance with legal requirements.
Perform thorough inspections of vehicle components including brakes, tyres, lights, suspension, and exhaust systems.
Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised testing equipment to carry out inspections efficiently.
Identify faults or issues requiring repair or further investigation and communicate findings clearly to customers or management.
Assist with minor repairs or adjustments when necessary to meet MOT standards.
Maintain accurate records of all inspections and tests performed in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Ensure the testing area is kept clean, organised, and adheres to health and safety regulations.
Assist in training new team members on testing procedures and safety protocols.
Qualifications
Proven experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar vehicle inspection role.
Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Ability to perform heavy lifting when required, including handling vehicle parts or equipment.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate inspections and compliance with legal standards.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Valid MOT Tester certification recognised by the DVSA (Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency).
