Another wetbelt done this week. This time on a Ranger, the belt was replaced as a precaution before any issues later on. This was stripped and all parts removed and replaced including the sump pan, pick up pipe and oil belt.

Focus EcoBoost cambelt (Wet belt)

This came in with the oil light on and the engine noisy, after stripping it down we found the oil pump belt had completely deteriorated to the point of failure and blocked the oil pump. The cambelt and oil pump were replaced along with all other required parts and back to full running order.

Another Citroen cambelt wet belt system done this week. The cambelt had deteriorated in the oil which then blocked the vacuum pump causing the brakes to not work. Everything has been stripped down cleaned and rebuilt with a new cambelt and vacuum pump.

We are seeing a lot of these engines coming through now with problems caused by the belt whether it’s oil pressure faults or the brake pedal not being able to be pressed down due to the vacuum pump failing. If you have this engine in your car then get the belt checked or replaced.
