Hi all
Lovely Kawasaki H1 500f came in unable to select neutral at a standstill when engine running clutch was found to be dragging,
removed clutch cable and quadrant cleaned, lubricated, and set up
adjustment as per workshop manual also replaced gearbox oil
job done neutral now selecting .

Hi all,
Another carburettor job on this stunning Kawasaki triple 500
the bike was fading after 1/4 of a mile strange one?
checked and stripped the fuel tap to find some sort of sealant
wrapped around the diaphragm valve restricting the fuel flow,
this prompted a carburettor strip only to find centre carb float
bowl nearly empty, on closer inspection found float tight on its
pivot pin hence the lack of fuel, after a good cleanup, float heights
set, and built back up, road test man this machine is popping
the power band, the induction noise, the cool riding position, the brakes are marginal but so what, the whole feel of the bike is so retro, i love it.

Hi all
Obtained these carbs off ebay for kz900 absolutely ditched, unfortunately didn't take a before photo but
the float bowls are an example how they were,
the throttle slides were seized in solid so I removed all the jets etc and after a bit of research dropped them in
a bath of (don't laugh) Coca-Cola over night this freed off the gummed up slides and cleaned them to a degree then dropped them in a bath of hot not boiling
water and added lemon juice (quarter of a bottle) left
overnight to soak and this is the result without brushing, scraping, poking, or proding, all the little airways clear I was amazed.

Hi all,
had this cb350 in customer had to keep charging the battery it started but wouldn't go above 20mph amongst other things!!
as is the norm now you have to go through everything
mechanical, electrical, and fuel system,
checked charging rate nothing going into the battery
replacement stator and regulator/rectifier to sort that out, carbs off for a clean out and set up also found a small tear in throttle slide diaphragm (well expensive) hence down on power, reset tappets, electronic ignition fitted so no maintenance there, took it up the road well what a surprise it ran beautiful smooth, responsive, and sounded great I couldn't believe what a fun bike this is well impressed, I believe its for sale too.

Hi all
Had this lovely little late FS1E come in running rough and a bit noisy, stripped top end to find piston and cylinder wiped out as photo, I was quoted over £90
for rebore and piston kit but got brand new cylinder and piston kit off the bay for just over £60, cleaned and set the carb primed and checked oil pump operation kicked up and started straight away,
the sound and smell took me right back to the 70s when the roads were full and buzzing with these 50cc motorcycles magical times.

Hi all,
Had this lovely RD125 come in running rough no power, plugs oiling up, unfortunately had to go through everything mechanically and electrically to get it right but we got there in the end runs and sounds awesome now,
however looks can be deceiving when buying these
beauties.

Hi all
Had this non starter KZ1000 in, Had plugs out to check for spark they were ok but dry moved on to fuel
ok at the tap so I dropped a carb bowl off, to my amazement one had this green fluid in which to me smelt like turpentine and the other three had red fluid in ? ( turned out to be red x ) along with some of the float valves gummed in, pilot jets blocked, and two choke plungers seized in what chance did it ever stand, anyway after a full strip down, a good clean out,
reset float heights and mixture screws, balanced the carbs, fresh fuel started almost immediately,
love these carb jobs.

Hi all
found couple more pic's from the late 80's or early 90's
can't for the life of me remember? GPZ900 Top Gun bike and it actually was an import from California,
the damn carbs used to ice up in winter!! causing all sorts of problems misfiring, and stalling, which made me late for work on a number of occasions, the UK bikes had a mod that was carried out by Kawasaki
some plumbing from the coolant to the carbs to eliminate this problem, anyway these photos taken next to a meteor at Staverton Airport near Cheltenham
not mirimar California, an absolutely fantastic machine.
