August has certainly brought us our fair share of repairs so far!

A catastrophic head gasket failure, two cambelt failures and a seized engine, alongside our usual flow of MOTs and MOT related repairs - brakes, exhausts, welding, suspension components and much more! 👌👌

We’ve also had a BIG clear out in the workshop, freeing up some much needed space, sold some more second hand MG/Rover spares, which have been shipped out to all ends of the UK, and squeezed in a few more recoveries along the way! 🚗💨

And do you know what?
WE’RE ABSOLUTELY LOVING IT! 🥰🥰

This is the result of a cambelt failure caused by a prolonged camshaft oil seal leak.

The leaking oil eventually soaked into the cambelt, causing it to lose grip and slip under load, with catastrophic consequences… 🫣

One completely smashed VVC cylinder head, a damaged piston & a cracked liner.

A pretty good reminder that a small oil leak can quickly turn into a very expensive repair if ignored! 😬

If you spot oil around your cambelt area, or leaking on the ground beneath your car, please don’t ignore it, get it checked out!

This arm came off a TF that had been condemned & misdiagnosed by another MOT station as being "a heavily corroded rear subframe"... It's actually the gearbox support arm which is a completely seperate component to the subframe, and, something that we luckily keep spares of in stock.

Needless to say, the owner was very pleased to hear that his subframe was in fact absolutely fine - other than a bit of surface rust, and his wallet (as well as his wife) are absolutely delighted! 😁👌

It's been a very busy couple of weeks here at KD MOT! 👌

We've carried out loads of Class 4 & Class 7 MOTs as always, alongside underbody rust protection treatments, sill welding repairs, head gasket replacements, cambelt changes, servicing, MOT repairs, exhaust repairs, diagnostics, and so much more. We've also been shipping MG/Rover spare parts to customers all over the UK! 🚗📦

While the boss was away in Amsterdam celebrating her birthday, the lads kept everything running like clockwork, working hard to keep our customers happy and the workshop operating efficiently. It's been great to receive so many lovely comments from customers about them and the service they received. 🥰
