In the workshop today we had a 2019 Dacia Duster which continuously kept illuminating the power steering fault light with warning message check power steering system , also sometimes the ESP light appeared along side

This all seemed to happen after tyre replacement at another place but in my opinion not related

Anyway fault code was suggesting failed steering angle sensor , but having and paying for dealer technical information each year suggested software update might resolve the issue

So with the help of remote diagnostics and having the necessary equipment we were able to offer and carry out the update or at least check if one was available , update carried out and all lights disappeared and now no warning messages appearing on each start up

At least now customer is happy and no longer needs to visit Dacia main dealer

Nice little Mini recovered into us as it suddenly became a non starter after owner disconnected battery whilst they carried out some repairs

After a diagnostic check and using specialist automotive immobiliser & key reading equipment it revealed that the only key the vehicle owner had suddenly failed

We supplied and programmed 2 new keys, car now up & running again

We was asked by another local garage if we could have a look at a Mercedes sprinter van which became a non runner, no ignition switch functioning at the local MOT station

Couple of checks it appeared that key was now not transmitting the correct information

Unfortunately due to the size of the van we had to remove the EIS unit (ignition switch) at its location which is not really a service we offer but on this occasion I agreed as a one off to attempt it on site
