Had a good day at the NFE (National Funeral Exhibition) looking around new products and updating old ones. Oscar especially enjoyed the cars and seeing how things are made or how they work.
Special thanks goes to Saif and Obitus and to everyone who spoke or spent time chatting, obviously too many to mention individually

Another successful day with Lee Longland winning the Ainsworth Cup Singles Bowling Trophy.
The final against Dean Butler showed the talent of both players.
Once again the assistance of Harry Hargreaves, Bill Stemp & Margaret Corden cannot be overlooked along with the people who marked cards, measured, catered or spectated (in the rain)

This week marks Dying Matters Awareness Week, a time dedicated to encouraging open and honest conversations around death, dying, and grief.

As part of SAIF’s ‘Handled With Care’ campaign, we are sharing Carla’s story to help raise awareness of the importance of understanding the choices available when arranging a funeral, and the value of personal care and support during difficult times.

Carla’s mum had originally chosen a direct cremation through an online provider, believing it would be the simplest and most affordable option. However, Carla later shared the emotional reality of that experience and how difficult it felt without the personal support and guidance her family needed.

She later turned to her local independent funeral director, where she found comfort in having someone there to listen, guide, and support her, whilst still keeping arrangements simple, meaningful, and within budget.
Her story is a reminder that every family is different, and that taking the time to explore your options and speak openly with loved ones can make a difficult time feel a little less overwhelming.

We hope this video encourages important conversations and helps families feel more informed about the choices available to them.

If you would like to speak with us about funeral arrangements or the options available to you, please feel free to contact us on 01254 873290.

Saying goodbye doesn’t need to feel complicated or overwhelming. It’s about having the right support around you, and it’s not something you should have to carry on your own.

A lot of people don’t realise just how much goes into arranging a funeral, and many wouldn’t know where to start without a bit of help.

That’s where we come in.

We’re here to take some of that weight off your shoulders and guide you through it, step by step, so you can focus on what really matters.

For many people, compassion is the most important thing when choosing a funeral director.

If you ever need us, we’re here to talk things through, offer guidance and help you make the choices that feel right for you and your family.
