Maintaining your vehicle with regular services is key to longevity and reliability for your engine.

This is a prime example of lack of maintenance.

This 2021 Toyota pro ace fitted with the 1.5 diesel dv5r engine (very common engine fitted to various makes of cars and vans) wasn’t so lucky. Lack of servicing caused this engine’s timing chain to fail.
Although it wasn’t all bad new cam shaft assembly/chain kit installed with timing belt and water pump replacement, then a thorough engine clean with oil sump removal and this engine was back to life ⚙️ 🔧 🧑‍🔧
