An exceptional car deserves an exceptional finish.

Work is well under way on restoring this fabulous Iso Grifo’s paintwork at Cropredy Bridge Cars.

Our team has carefully removed years of accumulated paint and filler, taking the body back to its original metalwork in preparation for a full respray. This provides the foundation for assessing the panels and completing the painstaking preparation that a first-class finish demands.

The quality of a paint finish starts long before the colour is applied. Time invested at this stage is essential to achieving both the appearance and durability the car deserves.

We’ll share more as this Grifo progresses through our paint shop.

CAD – but not quite as you know it! 🔧

When it comes to creating bespoke body panels for classic cars, we have our own interpretation of CAD – Cardboard Aided Design!

This traditional technique involves taking precise measurements and transferring them onto cardboard templates, which are then carefully shaped and offered up to the vehicle for a trial fit.

Once our technicians are satisfied with the shape, dimensions and fit, the template is used to guide the cutting and forming of new sheet metal, ensuring the finished panel follows the original contours of the bodywork.

It's a process that combines meticulous attention to detail, traditional craftsmanship and years of experience.

This is just one of the many specialist techniques our skilled technicians use when restoring exceptionally rare vehicles, such as this Vignale-built Jensen Interceptor, where replacement panels simply aren't available off the shelf.

🚘 60 YEARS OF THE JENSEN INTERCEPTOR & FF – TWO EXTRAORDINARY CARS, ONE REMARKABLE STORY! 🇬🇧

In October 1966, Jensen unveiled the Interceptor and revolutionary FF at the Earls Court Motor Show, introducing two of Britain's most iconic grand tourers.

60 years later, we're celebrating with two very special Vignale-built Jensens.

🔹 Interceptor EXP/115 (HEA 1D) – The oldest surviving Jensen Interceptor, currently undergoing a painstaking restoration in our workshops, preserving the unique details of this historic early car.

🔹 Jensen FF 119/006 (LJU 808E) – A beautifully restored example of Jensen's pioneering four-wheel-drive grand tourer, with an extraordinary history. Its former owner, RAF pilot Peter Hall, helped prepare the legendary Great Escape from Stalag Luft III.

From Italian coachwork and mighty Chrysler V8s to groundbreaking four-wheel drive and anti-lock brakes, Jensen was truly ahead of its time.
