He studies IT. He builds electric race bikes. And now we can finally see what he helped build.
Meet Nexus-TR, the latest electric race bike from Electric Superbike Twente, built by a team of university students at the University of Twente.
Jelle van den Brink studies there. He spent the year working on the bike's powertrain.
No engineering degree. No corporate R&D department. Just a bunch of students, a workshop, a serious race programme and a very real motorcycle to build.
And then they take it racing.
We sat down with Jelle to find out how you actually learn to build an electric motorcycle when you're still at university, and what happens when the entire team gets replaced every September.
