💛 Today is a big day for us. We've officially passed £10,000 in community support for 2025.

£10,000. Through sponsorships, free lessons, gifts, prizes and backing people and organisations that make Worksop a better place, we've already beaten our full-year target, and we're not done yet.

This isn't something we shout about for likes or shares. We do it because this community is the reason we exist. Every pupil who passes their test with us, every family that supports us, every person who recommends us to a friend, you make what we do possible. And giving back is the very least we can do.

We've supported local charities, sponsored community events, given away free lessons to people who needed them and put real prizes into the hands of our pupils and their families.

But here's the question: 👇

📋 Good news on the horizon for learners waiting for a test date?

Feedback suggests that no-show rates at driving tests are rising, and the belief is that this is a direct result of the DVSA's rule changes on 12th May 2026, which removed the ability to cancel or rebook tests at short notice.

Now, before we get too excited, this is early intel, and nothing is confirmed. But the logic stacks up. If you can no longer easily move your test, some people are simply not showing up rather than sitting a test they feel underprepared for.

What could that mean for learners? More last-minute test slots are potentially becoming available in the coming weeks and months. 👀

We're keeping a close eye on this. If you've been waiting for a test date and want to be ready to jump on a slot the moment one comes up, that's exactly what we're here for.

🏆 5 for 5. 100%. Every. Single. Time.

Huge congratulations to James, who has just passed his final Part 3 exam and is now a fully qualified Approved Driving Instructor! Welcome to the team properly, James. We are absolutely over the moon for you. 🎊

James is now the 5th instructor I have personally supported through to full qualification, and I'm proud to say that's five attempts, five passes. A 100% Part 3 completion rate.

Now I know what you're thinking, that won't last forever. And you're right, it won't. No one bats a thousand indefinitely. But here's what it does tell you: the methods work. Five different people, five different personalities and learning styles, and the same outcome every time. Repeatability is everything in teaching, and right now, 5 for 5 is showing exactly that.

To James, you've worked incredibly hard for this. Now go and change lives on the road, one lesson at a time. 🚗

🎉 Congratulations Roux, first time pass!

And honestly? I'm going to be real with you here, I can't take much of the credit for this one. 😄

Roux came to me for a short-notice semi-intensive course, already carrying fantastic foundations laid down by his original instructor. She did the hard yards. She built the skills, the confidence and the understanding that a good driver needs. I just got to sit in the passenger seat, put the finishing polish on it, and watch him go and nail it on test day. 🙌

That's what good instruction looks like, whoever you learn with. The groundwork matters.

🤯 Did you know the DVSA loses £24 on every single driving test they deliver?
According to the National Audit Office (December 2025):

The actual cost of running a test is £86
Learners only pay £62
The fee hasn't gone up since 2009

So here's the question nobody seems to be asking, if every test they deliver makes the deficit worse, do they actually have a financial incentive to increase test capacity? Hire more examiners. Run more tests. Lose more money. You do the maths.

The official line is that they're working hard to reduce waiting times. The structural reality is that the cheapest driving tests in Europe come with the worst waiting times in Europe, and nothing changes with every learner who passes.

As instructors we see this every single day, our pupils are ready to test and the wait is the only thing standing between them and their licence.
It doesn't change what we do. We get pupils test-ready and as prepared as they can possibly be, so that when that test date finally comes, they are absolutely ready to take it the first time. 🎯

🌟 Evie, what an absolute star!

Congratulations to Evie, who passed her driving test first time today, after just 30 hours of lessons with me personally. 🎉

30 hours. First attempt. Passed.

That's not luck, that's Evie putting in the focus and the effort every single lesson, and building real confidence behind the wheel. I genuinely couldn't be prouder.

The thing about 30 hours is that it's not about rushing, it's about getting the right structure from the very start and making every lesson count. When a pupil is as switched on as Evie, that's exactly what happens.
